Band of Losers vs. ...

By Krysmopompas, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

Wolfpack,

thanks for the extensive feedback on the Heralds. Glad you like the ideas behind them :) Also, need to study some more to find thematic monsters for Ithaqua and stuff. But thanks for the suggestions, I took a quick note and will think about that :)

If you plan to play R'lyeh Awakens with Innsmouth, go at least with Wendy: she can easily block a horde in front a vortex space. But you're right, this Herald should grant you quite a Deep One adrenalyne :)

As for your last question... yes, I do plan to release more stuff in the future. I have tons of notes about this or that effect, and 4 bonus scenarios for Avi's league half designed. Time has become a major issue lately, tho, especially in the last year. Not that I play less games; but I moved to playtesting some of them, and, even if the experience is awesome and I'm having always a great time with that, free time to develop custom stuff for Arkham has sunk. Let's say I'm half retired. Nonetheless, in the last 12 months, I made two heralds available, one for Quachil Uttaus ( The Child of Time ) and one for Azathoth ( The Nothingness ) that has the interesting idea - or the boring idea, depends - of not using the monster cup in the game. There's space for more stuff (as said, the custom institution The Esoteric Order of Dagon ; a Rhan-Tegoth Herald that will finally make the AO playable; a Zhar Herald with effects being triggered when not rolling doubles). Just some embryo ideas. Let's see what's next :)

I have printed The Nothingness herald, which is very unique and unsettling :) Much preparation needed for combat, and bad news should you be surprised when a "monster" appears.

The Esoteric Order would be a valuable addition to Innsmouth and add a lot of flavor -- I was looking over Tibs' revised Dagon as well -- I do think that the official Dagon is hard, but more importantly, he's not much fun.

Agree on life getting busy -- I feel very fortunate to get a game in per week, and there's periods where work and life take over. Love the coming holidays when we can sit down for some good gaming sessions. :)
