Maybe I missed it in the book, but how does gambling work in EOTE?
One of my players is a Wookiee with a gambling addiction so I figure gambling is something that I should know how to do.

They are rules for Sabbac in the Under a Black Sun module, page 27.
And they only simulate the rules nothing more. So i guess you could adapt it to any gambling game you want.
Basically it's deception roles with narrative roleplay. ![]()
Where the Force die represents randomness.
Edited by NaglarephThe Black Sun module makes gambling an aspect of the Cool skill, presuming you're not trying to cheat. In the EotE Beta, it was listed as being an aspect of the Negotiation skill instead.
If you're cheating, then it's either Deception, Skulduggery, or Computers, though the last one relies upon said game of chance having an electronic component that your PC can mess with; computers won't help much in a game of Pazakk, which avoids the automated randomizer that Sabacc employs.
As mentioned above, there are published rules for Sabacc using the dice. If you want to get more realistic, there are printable Pazaak cards out there and you can actually play a few hands around the table. If you want to get kind of crazy, there are rules for Dejarik (Holochess) out there as well that could probably be adapted in some way.
If you want some simple casino games like a slot machine or roulette table, let the difficulty dictate the "odds" of winning and the number of successes and advantages determine if and how much they win.

Haha. I actually made a dejarik table with my GF a few years back. (Round piece of wood with paint). All of the creatures are available from the old Star Wars miniatures game so I essentially have a full holochess game.
I think I'll just stick with the dice though, using real game stuff would probably just slow things down and would end up being the player's skill rather than the character's skill.

These never get old.
