The Phantom Moo-nace. Build suggestions.

By JustRob, in X-Wing

So I've been looking at a build using the Phantom and a couple of other little dog fighters. I've come up with this list. I need to play test it some more but I'd be interested to hear people thoughts.

Dark Curse

Omicron Group Pilot

Omicron Group Pilot/Lambda-Class Shuttle (21)

Darth Vader (3)

So my strategy is fairly straightforward really:

Doomshuttle and Mauler work as a pair

Echo solos

Dark Curse solos

The Doomshuttle moves into a mid table position from a flank and starts to do the vadar shenanigans (Useful against Phantoms and a certain Tyco with infinite stress tokens I keep facing)

Dark curse with stealth is nasty to try and take down and will look to pew pew and take sheilds off for Vadar to work. Mauler will float around the shuttle doing lots of Hits to nearby ships and allowing the shuttle to stay still for Maximum shots and vadar opportunity. If the shuttle also needs to turn to return tot he fight later then Mauler is his escort.

Echo then skirts the edges and looks to come in to do high damage where needed.

I am prepared to lose Mauler and Doomshuttle to leave an end game pair of dark curse and Echo, Those two are very difficult to hit and Echo can still do his stuff.

Opinions? Places I could tweak? Dark Curse is difficult to kill but could I use his points elsewhere to better effect as he doesn't hit hard.

Lists that I could face that could cause problems? The Y wings with Ion cannons are a problem for me..........

Cheers,

Just_Rob

I'd bump dark curse to an academy so recon specialist can go onto echo. He really needs it for his defense rolls. Plus you'll have a couple points to put somewhere, tactician and a 2 point initiative bid?

the academy is there to mess with swarms and is bump bait, helping your few good shot ships make the most of it.
