Why is there such a big jedi bias?

By DAWHIPPA, in Star Wars: The Card Game

Always seems like there are new jedi comming out with fancy eenhancements. And there are way more jedi than sith. Didn't the sith annihilate almost all of them? The way it's portrayed in this game you would think the jedi executed order 66.

With that being said I don't think the jedi are OP. But why can't the sith have enhancements as good as trust your feelings. Or soresu or makshi training? They practice too. Or a old Bens spirit. (They could make it old Banes spirit)

Then the sheer number of jedi

2x Obi was

2x (soon to be 3) Yodas

2x Lukes (so on to be 3)

Kyle katarn

ferus olin

As opposed to

2x Vader

1 Emporer

2x Mara jades

1 Jerec

You're forgetting Sariss but both her and Jerec were actually Dark Jedi and not Sith.

The whole concept of the Sith that was practiced in the movies was the idea of only one master and apprentice. It's referred to as the rule of two in the Legends material.

As this mostly focuses on the timeline around the OT we might expect characters near that time to appear in the game. Only time will tell on that.

Jedi have enhancements but the Sith have events.

Sariss to me seems to mediocre for the price and I didn't know they were dark jedi. And didn't plagues' s master have 2 apprentices thus meaning there were 3 sith at one time just before palpatine

An interesting thing with the Sith is they are always in it for themselves and are constantly looking for a chance to betray one another. They will even bring in someone else to help them take out their Master/Apprentice. This is why Darth Vader told Luke to join him and destroy the Emperor. Palpatine himself had Anakin take care of his former apprentice before recruiting Anakin to the Dark Side. If you watch the Clone Wars, it seems that same practice of betrayal happens.

I'm sure there were a lot more Sith out there if you read all the Legends stuff. Who knows which ones will be put in the game other than FFG.

Sariss has her place in the game as do all the cards. Remember, when new sets come out, suddenly older ones become more useful. While 2 Damage Capacity is 1 too few for the likes of her, her set brings in some good things for the Sith Affiliation. Protectors and shields would certainly help the likes of her.

I'm hoping they bring in the rest of the 7 Dark Jedi that Sariss and Jerec are a part of, for the variety and for thematic reasons.

There were also many "hands" like Mara. I would love to see them as the "main" characters for the sith ...

I'd be intrigued to see a Sith objective set with a Yun who sides with whoever holds Balance, but that has other cards that counteract this drawback.

Hmmm... in keeping with the handing off of his Lightsaber I'd say something like:

Yun's Lightsaber

1 Cost

2 Force Icons

Enhance a Force Sensitive or Force User unit

Enhanced unit gains 1 Black Unit Damage, Edge (1)

Reaction: After attached Dark Side unit leaves play, the Light Side player may attach this to any Force Sensitive or Force User unit in play.

By specifying about Dark Side unit, it prevents the LS player from constant reattachment whenever the attached units leave play.

As far as Yun goes, I would think something like a constant effect that represents his species' ability to resist Force powered mind tricks. Maybe something like:

Cannot be targeted by Jedi Affiliated events.

If that doesn't seem appropriate, he was apparently skilled with telekinesis and mind trick, so maybe something that represented that?

Yun

3 Cost

2 Force Icons

3 Damage Capacity

1 Black Unit Damage, 1 White Unit Damage, 1 White Blast Damage

Action: Spend 3 resources to place a Focus token on a target Character or Creature unit.

3 cost because anything lower would make it a bit ridiculous.
