Your dream fleet (that also conforms to your budget)...

By Bakura83, in Star Wars: Armada

Honestly, all I want is a single ISD, a VSD, enough fighters for both, and then an equally sized rebel fleet with one Mon Cal cruiser, a nebulon B, at least one corvette and enough fighters to add up to the IMP fleet.

Then I'll be happy to go back to x-wing...

...basically, I want Armada to be a capital ship simulator expansion for my x-wing collection.

Armada is what I wanted when I started xwing. Initially, 2 mk2 frigates, cr90s and nebs. And 1vsd and 1 gladiator plus fighters for both. Just going to be a little much for big fleets of both factions I think..

I'm going to be starting with 2 Victories, 1 Gladiator and Fighters for the Imperium and 1 Assault Frigate, 2 Neb-B's, 2 CR90's, and fighters for the Rebs. Should round out pretty nicely to 300pts per side with the ability to have a few options for mixing and matching. Should only run a total of $200 too after discount from Miniature Market. Already ordered the starter so now just waiting for everything else to go up on pre-order so I can get a happy surprise come the new year :)

I would love an ISD, 2 VSDs, an Interdictor, 2-3 Carracks, and 2-3 Lancers, maybe a Rendili Dreadnought, and probably a handful of Strike Cruisers, Imperial Neb-bs and Corvettes.

I believe that Lancers and Carracks along with ISDs of when they make it in game and not a matter of if (at least I hope so)

I guess it depends. I like the bigger star destroyers but without an escort I kind of feel like they're exposed? Fighters won't cut it, and I'm not sure if the Gladiators are more small cruiser or awkward escort. I'd have to see them on the table.

For Rebels, I think I like the idea of a corvette swarm.

Sound like the same plan for me too.

Looking forward to a "battleship" battle group centred around 1 or 2 star destroyer or their rebel equivalent, 2 - 3 cruisers and about 3 - 4 screening vessels?

Either that follow the kreigsmarine way of doing things... Solo in a pocket BB or a pair of BB

I'm going to buy and field as many cheese wedges as I can while still having a functional fleet.

Because Star Destroyers.

Are you kidding me? I want to see large fleet battles. A ISD and two crappy Rebel Corvettes hardly counts. Sure it is a lovely start and I can't wait to get into em, but I am envisioning battles involving multiple SDs, squadrons of fighters maybe some moon base with land based howitzers, and similar on the Rebel side.

Just ships we know are coming, or are almost certain are coming:

One MO80 three or four Nebulon-Bs three or four CR90s, two or three Assault Frigate Mark IIs

Including ships I hope are coming

One MO80 three Nebulon-Bs three or four CR90s, two Assault Frigate Mark IIs, two Marauder Corvettes, two or three DP20s, one CC-7700, two or three MC30Cs, two or three CC-9600s

I would love a Mon Cal Cruiser and a Quasar Fire-class bulk carrier, modified to carry a billion starfighters. And a billion starfighters to go in it. :) As for Imperials, I'm hoping for an Impstar Deuce - an Imperial Star Destroyer, Mark II.
