My first game was vs.

Trellix, HLC, recon specialist

First engagement was his shuttle at range 3 of 2 of my interceptors, he put one of them down to 1 hit point while I shaved off 2-3 shields. Next turn I managed to block his shuttle onto an asteroid, and obliterated it with 5 ships (as he had bumped the interceptor). I then took out one academy and trellix over the next several turns, and then managed to kill his last remaining academy when time was called, only losing a single interceptor for my troubles.

My second game was vs a regular from my FLGS, who was running 4 sigma's. We engaged and he took out an interceptor while I took out a sigma, then it all went down hill as I decided to k turn, but blocked his k turn so my ships couldnt shoot anyone. he slowly destroyed me while I could do nothing, bad bad decision.

Third opponent ran.

OGP, weapons engineer, st 321 and ion cannon

We took ages to engage, and I eventually took out his shuttle then Vessery, last shot of the game managed to take out Turr, for the loss of an academy and an alpha

Fourth opponent was rebels.

Etahn with PTL and r2

Wedge with predator and r5 p9

dutch with ion turret and r4 d6

My opponent basically attacked the swarm head on with Etahn and Wedge, so I lost an academy pilot but took out wedge. I then turned and took out dutch the next turn, and spent the next 20-30 minutes trying to take out Etahn. Howlrunner finally taking him out for the loss of an interceptor.

Fifth opponent was another FLGS regular

Turr With VI

Whisper with VI and ACD

Fel with PTL, shield upgrade and TC

This was a rather fun annoying game, due to arc dodging and superior pilot skill on the opposing force. I managed to take out whisper and Turr for the loss of 2 academys and 2 interceptors, and then spent the rest of the game chasing Fel. Howl managed to survive a range 1 4 hit attack thanks to her stealth device and put a crit onto Fel, but it wasnt enough. Fel killed Howl and then time was called.

My sixth Opponent was another FLGS regular, who I'd only played against once (in a tournament and I spanked him).

Etahn

2 daggers with adv sensors and HLC's

we Engaged and he managed to clip one of his b wings on an asteroid, who promptly got destroyed by my swarm, for the loss of 2 hit points on one of my interceptors. I then slowly took out his b wing and managed to take out Etahn with Howlrunner again, for the loss of an interceptor.

So with 4 wins and 2 losses I wasnt that confident about placing, however it was the first tournament this club had run, so most of the people taking part weren't that experienced.

When the prizes was announced I was rather shocked to win 3rd place! (by 6 points on margin of victory).

Still dont feel great running the swarm, especially vs high PS lists, but I'm going to try this list more often in the league and try and get better with formation flying
