Store tourney Questions

By Obi Juan Kenobi, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Hi all, I am next week going to be taking part in my first store tournament...up to now I have pretty much played the same person over and over in 200 point games, recently we have both started to play 100 as standard.

Basically, what should I know? are there any specific rules that anybody could link me to?

I hear games are 1 hour long as standard which means I will have to think faster! How are stalemates decided ? by ship? by surviving ship value? or by hulls/shields remaining across all ships?

You can find the Tourney Rules PDF on FFG's website... and no, I'm not posting the link. You can find it all by yourself I'm sure. I believe a match is 75 min +/- 15 min at the TO's discretion based on the number of players entered in said Tourney.

One thing you should know... not everyone at the Tourney will have the same idea of personal hygiene as yourself. Just sayin'...

Anyway, good luck and have fun. Now get out there and kick some stinky nerd ass!

haha I best not share dice then!

Thanks! Just found them on the ff site.

Got my list together, just don't know whether to tinker now I have a Rebel Aces pack!

Things to know beforehand when going to a tournament for the first time:

Have your printed list made and in hand.

Practice that list.

Bring a tray to hold all your stuff (really hard to move from table to table without one)

Read Tournament rules and FAQ PDF's.

Bring any concerns you have to the T.O's attention.

Fly Casual.

Just be familiar with your list. Know your strengths.
Above all else, have fun

Further to this point: I've found that the basic core set box is big enough for most squads.

Another quick tip: only take as many tokens as you need, with a couple of spares just in case. The fewer things you have to carry around, the better.

Thanks guys, some really good pointers.

I have had three games with my AXE lineup, Tycho, rookie and Horn and won all three (actually the second I used Biggs instead of the rookie). I haven't practised against a swarm though so I really don't know how I will do!

I have also never played against another Rebel fleet which I guess could easily happen, that will be strange!
