[SPOILERS]: Star Wars: Rebels - Thoughts?

By GM Hooly, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

GM: So, roll your computers!

Kanan's player: Success! I get the transponder masker on. . . but I got a despair.

GM: You get the transponder on just in time for the Star Destroyer not to notice you. . . until the Pig inflates, knocking zeb into the console turning off the transponder during the middle of their scan.

Kanan's player: Oh. . . . darn.

Yeah, we've ALL been there. . . .

Something else....

Ezra's pistol is not your standard blaster pistol, shooting white balls of energy instead of the standard red bolt.

Pretty sure they were aiming for it for be a longer-range stun blaster than your average fair.

Or maybe

based on his wrist-mounted stun slingshot.

You know,

I actually thought about that just before going to sleep last night. Is the slingshot still on his wrist? He might have used bits of it in his lightsaber construction.

It appears we'll get to see Lando in the next episode. I wonder if we get to see his little maneuver in the Battle of Taanab.

I would love to see the Battle of Tanaab as long as its a proper battle rather then Home Alone in the Stars like in the EU version.

The EU version might be entertaining but I fail to see how what Lando did there demonstrated the kind of leadership or tactical abilities to make the Rebel Alliance decide that he was fit to command the fighter attack wings at Endor.

Hmmm, I'll have look for that when I rewatch the episode.

I saw the episode.

When I thought to look, I only saw what could have been a mount for the slongshot on his wrist, but I wasn't sure.

It was great to have Billy Dee back, but he definitely had the old man slur going on during some of his lines. But Hera was awesome once again.

The Jedi order is broken, but man - that whole thrive or die thing would be more suited to the Sith. Mind you, that could be an indicator just HOW broken the order is.

I disagree. Kill or be killed would be a Sith thing. Be spiritually pure or die, that's pretty Jedi.

Anyway, on the subject of the latest episode, Lando Calrissian is extremely annoying. Though I'm pretty sure that he is meant to be. Hera is amazing, however.

I loved how Lando put his hand on the ceiling of the Ghost while walking in... It looked so natural and so Billy Dee... Great job. The episode I thought was funny but pretty much filler compared to the precious one.

Great role for the droid though!

Lando was pretty annoying, but I'm still happy to see him. It's a shame he isn't going to be in Episode VII.

I thought Billy Dee did just fine considering he's about 75 years old, y'know? I'd rather they keep bringing in the original voices (and maybe not have them at 100%) than not, personally. It's a nice nod to the continuity, and adds to the overall feel of the (excellent) series.

I am very curious about that senator that keeps hacking Imperial broadcasts to "tell the truth the Empire doesn't want you to hear." The one that looks a lot like David Niven?

I have a theory that he doesn't really exist. He's just Rebel bait in an Imperial entrapment scheme.

I hope I'm wrong though, I mean who doesn't love David Niven...

Called it! Mostly.

You'd be surprised what can be done with digital filters to someone's voice.

Also more Lando!

He said he's been working with the Rebels crew for a year or so and when I asked him bluntly if we'll see him again in Star Wars Rebels he responded: "Yeah! There's more adventures with Lando coming up."

Works every time. . . .

If the show lasts until the foundation of the Alliance I hope Hondo becomes one of the first Alliance privateers. I would love to see his Corona in actual space combat too.

Please either include a decent battle of Tanaab or some other battle to justify the rank and role the Alliance gave Lando for Endor. After all Lando was only guessing that it was Tanaab that got him the job. Perhaps he led a force of smugglers, pirates, mercs, and such against an Imperial fleet to defend their base or a cargo transfer or something and one or more of the crews that survived it joined the Alliance and remembered his role there.

Who says the Alliance hasn't already been formed? We've already seen Bail Organa and the droids. Judging by his comments and what the droids were up to, there is more than just Kanan and his little group doing stuff.

Call to Action is up on WatchDisneyXD!

Leave it to Tarkin to suddenly show up and get **** done! Can't wait to see what happens next!

Also, I'm pretty sure we get to see what the "Mauler" described in Far Horizons looks like.

In the book A New Dawn we get the back story on how Kanan and Hera meet. It includes some illusions to the Rebellion but no mention of an Alliance. I would think that the Alliance won't exist until after the Rebellion goes public.

This show feels like it is slowly building up to the formation of the Rebel Alliance.

Haven't seen the new episode but I was under the impression the Mauler in FH was this thing from Clone Wars:

Have we seen this yet?

As for the wookie ship, I believe that's the ship the wookies leave in during Spark of Rebellion, we seee it for a brief moment docked with the Ghost.

That's nice but I want what Lego is making for The Avengers. Later this year, weighing in at almost 3000 pieces and 2 feet long, Shield's Heli-carrier will be available in brick form.

If it weren't also probably $500.....

Not that I have room for it. There's a reason my Sci-fi "armory" is kept at my office instead of my Command Center at home.
