Share your Hobby Station

By ImperialBucketHead, in X-Wing

I thought this would be a good thread for everyone who enjoys repaints and customization of their minis on here to post pics and ideas for and about their Hobby Work Stations! So I will start with my quaint but functional personal work area...

I do some airbrushing as well (though I keep the compressor and brush itself on a lower section of my desk). I had spent some time looking for a cost effective storage solution for my paint pots and such and came across these bamboo spice racks and Walmart for just a hair over 5 bucks a pop. Each rack will hold 42 individual GW paint pots or Vallejo (and I am sure many others) when setup in in pairs.

Please forgive the low quality but you get the idea...

Ok Who's next?!

Thanks for sharing, I've been looking for a solution like this for holding paints. I just did my first repaint and I don't really have a station at this point, so this thread will be useful to get ideas.

OoOoh I like this thread concept, do it people!

Hey Lansing,

Googling - MDF paint racks - will give a large selection of paint storage, assembly required. Or for a cheaper alternative, Nail varnish Racks. Check the dimensions of the latter against paint container size though.

Not the neatest but I have everything in one place.

I like the VHS.

station??? I got a whole room actually TWO... one is in the house proper called "The War Room" as its got all my collection of 1/72 scale aircraft that i like to build (Jets only). and computers. the other is the bonus room over the garage that i use for my HO trains... but for some reason I cant get past the Building the rails part.. Its a long story but I think I liked it better when my Dad was still living... It used to be something we did together a LONG LONG time ago.. and so when i retired from the Airforce i decided to build my own big layout... I am almost at the point that I would actually pay somebody to electrically wire it up just so i can run the trains and do the scenery! don't get me wrong its not hard at all to wire up... I am going with DCC so its even easier... for some reason i just don't feel like wiring it all together, i have even done the hard part and soldered on all the feeder wires!!! Heck I built and wired the 2 stall garage that its in... lol when i wake up more i may take a few pictures of my main assembly areas.. lol right now i NEED more coffee..

Hmm troubles posting... How do you post an image again?

I'm not sure I dare show you my workplace. Even when it's cleaned it looks like a mess and in the aftermath of one of my scratchbuilds it often looks like world war 3, the apocalypse and an Irish stag party has visited me simultaneously.

Nice tip, thanks!

Sorry can't for the life of me workout how to upload pics here
