New ep 7 Storm Trooper

By Black Knight Leader, in X-Wing

I agree 'there are no aethiests in the foxholes' but being of a mind that there is a higher power or something about when you're under massive trauma or stress is *not* the same as conclusive proof of the paranormal.

the thing with 'faith' is it doesnt require evidence or proof thats the point... thats why it called faith and not science.

By the way i'm a taoist. My wife is an aethiest scientist.

I always say she bases her life on 'best guesses' whereas i just have faith in the tao.

I cant support it with 'evidence', i just know its there for me.

"He never burned kids let alone for being witches..."

I think you missed the subject of that sentence.

"All that being said, what do you think of the Chrome Storm Troopers?"

I think Matte Black would have been a smarter/better looking choice.

Just a friendly tip, it's "atheist". Saying your wife is an 'aethiest' scientist makes it sound like she's really really aethy.

Whatever, you knew what i meant.

All hail our lord and savior.

This thread flamed down quickly..........

If you look closely, you can clearly see his balls.

*sigh* Sometimes I wonder about humanity..........

It's a shame that this thread has deteriorated to this. It's a shame that those of you who revile Christ bring that hatred of him here. I am a believer in Christ, I know he is real because I have had real encounters with him. I don't feel the need to defend that to any of you, to defend my faith, or to try to tell you you are wrong. According to the Bible, we will all give an account before his great white throne. I will say this: be very careful in assuming that because you have not expereinced something, that it is not real, I'd be cautious about mocking that which is beyond your experience or understanding. I don't say this to be condescending, but out of concern for your eternal future. I respect your position to disbelieve, I have never brought up this subject in these forums, but the disrespect of another's religion and mockery of Christ I have seen here..........

And as a fellow Christian I respectfully ask you to not say Christ as in the christ-beyond-this-realm one exists. Many do not believe in him, and their views on him should be respected as well. I'm not one for reviling him, but a respectful lack of belief is just fine.

Judge only those whom share your faith, leave those who do not believe to themselves as you expect them to leave yourself to your own devices. Do unto others as you would have done unto yourself. It is normal to be offended, but always remain cordial and respectful even if others do not.

Which can be a daunting task to say the very least.

But really. Don't so brusquely state the existence of Christ- just as you would not desire someone to denounce his existence. Please. It is simply a matter of mutual respect and understanding between faith and non faith alike. Something we need more of.

I heard the pope retconned miracles into midichlorians.

Eh, I really can't differentiate between any of the big beardy guys who live in the sky. A nod's as good as a wink to a blind bat.

That's hilarious. +1.

Fairly true, yeah. Not like any of us actually know which one- if any are true.

For all I know you and everything else are nothing more than figments of my over-active imagination. That or we are nothing but bits of a giant computer simulation for some bored aliens.

Descartes would like a word with you.

Not really.

A Nod can potentially collide with the bats flight path. Also, if two guys are hunting bats in a cave, and the "kill" signal is a nod and the "Not that one, it's too young/small" signal is a wink, the wink is definitely better for the bat.

Also, if the bat befriends a mute cave bear who nods with respect each time the bat passes, and is told of this later by another party, the bat may value the spirit behind the gesture even though he can't see it, more than if he found out that the bear was rudely winking whenever he went by.

All I'm trying to say is, if religion isn't really something you care about, don't attempt to comment on it's nuances. You just end up looking silly and perpetuating unhelpful stereotypes.

it's, because it's a contraction of "it is". "It is to small". Its is possessive:

It's too small/Every dog has its day.

EDIT:

Well Bakura, you're a tool. There are two "it's" in that post, not one.

I'm glad we cleared that up. :D
