Firing a ranged weapon in melee

By pearldrum1, in Only War Rules Questions

I asked about this on another thread, but does anyone know of a page number where the talk about the restrictions for firing a ranged weapon while in melee?

I know that in Deathwatch it can only be done with a pistol and only then with a single shot. I can't find anything in the OW CRB that mentions it.

As a house rule, I am going to allow firing a pistol or a basic weapon in melee on any setting, but anything other than a pistol will suffer a -10 penalty.

If you could show me a page number stating otherwise, I would appreciate it.

The rules are the same as in Deathwatch.

OW Core p. 249 line 7-8: "Ranged attacks cannot be made if the attacker is engaged in melee, unless he is firing a pistol-class weapon."

Awesome, Sol. Thanks for replying.

Page 252 explains that pistols can be fired at any of their settings if being used as a Sidearm.
