Edited by TeamjimbyWow, didn't see that one coming. Nice ability!
Could potentially bring out a Sword that was Broken for Aragorn, which would pay for her cost and still give you the 3 WP (+1) for questing. I think the last part about putting the cards back in any order shouldn't be understated either, especially coming from a sphere that has cards like a Very Good Tale, Timely Aid, and Taking Initiative. It would also help set up Silvan cards like Tree People or Galadhrim Minstrel.
What AP is this card part of?
nevermind ... Road Darkens!
Edited by born to loseFrom The Road Darkens, apparently.
That looks awesome to me. Nearly every key attachment in the game costs less than 3. (Resourceful is the only one I can think of that costs more that I use on a regular basis.)
my god that art.....
She looks to be an auto include almost solely based on the fact you get to put the attachment into play rather than into your hand. Three leadership resources for a plus three boost in willpower for the turn, a free attachment from the top five cards of your deck and getting to put the remaining four cards back in any order? Talk about value!!!
This is a great ally. It will work incredibly good in my Gondor deck, as it can fetch Steward of Gondor or Visionary Leadership, or CelebrÃan's Stone or Gondorian Fire (all of which I put on Tactics Boromir). I'd say almost every deck that uses Leadership will use this as it can fetch essential attachments, something that Leadership has so far been unable to do. I like that these new unique allies are very splashable in almost any deck that uses its sphere. Really like this ally and the art as well!
Edit: I read that last comment and I just realized Galadriel puts the attachment into play for no cost. That is insane, I like her so much more now.
Edited by Gizlivadiwow, blown away.. Not only are we getting a GaladrÃel Hero card this cycle - we're also getting an ally version. I've waited so long for this. Stoked!
If not running a deck with Galadriel hero, this is an auto include
I always play ally-light attachment-heavy decks so she will fit perfectly. Think how well her ability combos with the new Gandalf! You can get his staff out, then put a card on the top of your deck for him to play. The Sword that was Broken/Anduril combo is awesome as well!
OMG THAT POWER LEVEL
Am I the only one here that thinks she is not that good?
+3 for a turn for 3 resources with a top 5 card chance is pretty sucky imo.
She will never leave my box again once sleeved up.
Putting her into the random leadershit deck is wrong, yes. Putting her into the decent-attachment-running deck is a must.
And don't forget that she lets you put any remaining cards back in any order! Can be a good setup for various stuff(Expert Treasure Hunter, Gandalf Hero, Zigil Miner, Hunter of Lamedon, Vilya, Well-equipped). You can also exhaust Galadriel herself at the end of the round before she gets discarded for a Very Good Tale.
And, in case you missed it, she puts this attachment directly into play. Means she can technically pay back her cost if you have something costy at the top 5 of your deck.

I agree with you ...
She is very, very good but not always an auto-include. In the right deck, she is bonkers.

When you play A very good tale you must shuffle your deck...

Oopsies. Forgot that one
Perks of rarely using a card. Fixed the post.
Edited by MyNeighbourTrololoGreat ally imo. But I think they didn't have to add 'discard from play at the end of the round'.. She is not that strong anymore after she entered play. Her willpower is really nice, but it's really about her response.
Horn of Gondor is certainly getting some love. First Gandalf, then Elrond ally and now Galadriel ally.
At some point, I guess, we'll get 3-costed unique allies which leave play at the end of the round for both Spirit and Tactics.
Well that's certainly not a Gimli ally like I thought. Not really sure if I like the ability or not. For a Mono leadership deck she looks like an auto include, but I rarely play mono decks. Sure it's great she can put the attachment into play right away, but unless you are able to ensure it will be a high cost attachment, which usually there are less of in a deck it will most likely be a low cost or 0 cost attachment if anything. So, it's a bit of crap shoot. I think i'd rather just have Master of the Forge in a deck with consistent attachment draw, and then pay for the cards as normal. I'll have to try her out to see if she works for me. I really don't like playing allies that don't stick around after i pay a high cost for them. If I play a card like Gandalf core it's almost always with Sneak attack.
Also, with her hero card not even released yet, which i am very excited for, i would have much rather seen a card that was a fellowship member, for deck building purposes.
She is good one copy in deck ally for any reason. 3 willpower for 3 recource is ok. then your got a attachment for free and arrange you top deck. Very good! She is flexible.
I agree that it sucks that you have to pay 3 resources just to have her leave at the end of the round, but let's put this in perspective:
- 3 resources isn't terribly expensive, especially when there is a Steward of Gondor around.
- Would you pay 2 for her to be the exact same card except that the attachment comes into your hand instead of into play right away? I know I would, so even if the attachment only costs 1, you're getting a pretty nice benefit.
- Don't wanna say goodbye right away? Use Born Aloft and put her back in your hand to use her again.
- Sure, we tend to try to use Sneak Attack on Gandalf, but I've paid full price plenty of times. If her ability actually finds a playable attachment, then her abilities power level is pretty close to equivalent to Gandalf's in my opinion, and she costs 2 fewer resources.
There are obviously downsides to her card, but that's the point nowadays. The designers are trying to keep things balanced so for every point of awesomeness there needs to be some not-so-awesomeness to the card. I think they nailed that sweet spot with her.
Surely a target for the Children of the Sea, since she can pop in, add 5 willpower (with the boost from CotS), rearrange your top 5 cards, and drop an attachment for free, and still get shuffled back into your deck. All for 3 resources.
It's the any order return of the cards that really makes her worth the 3 cost. Awesome!
1. It looks like we will be seeing a pipe as the last card. Feta Cheese's non-non-disclosure has made that clear.
2. Galadrial is very thematic. Fits perfectly into the saga quest and I love that. "I cannot join your quest but I will provide you guidance (and willpower) and gifts (which you can put into play for free)." And she continues the Noldor tradition of deck manipulation.
But she doesn't fit into my existing attachment decks very well because, for a start, she's leadership. Master of the Forge does a great job of fetching attachments for lore decks and Imladris Stargazer let's you set up your draw steps in Spirit. And she does both of those jobs - once - in leadership. So outside of the saga she is really looking for an archetype I think, but can be very powerful in the right deck. I just haven't played that deck yet.
I'm wondering though if we'll see a silvan attachment in the last half of the cycle that would be a perfect fit for her husband.
