So just a shot in the dark, but will we get a new product announcement tomorrow or next week? When will we see a preview for Scum and Villainy? Just looking at past articles, the announcement that Imperial Aces was officially on sale came on March 17, and the announcement article for Rebel Aces came on March 18th, the next day. With Wave 5, the announcement cant about 2 weeks before the official on sale article for Wave 4. Wave 6 was announced at GenCon, when the first ships of Wave 5 went on sale to convention attendees. And with both Wave 4 and Wave 5, the first preview article for one of the expansions came on the Monday six weeks after the initial announcement article. It has now been over six weeks since they showed us Scum. But then, the first preview article for Rebel Aces came three months after its announcement.

So, do you think we'll see something tomorrow? Monday? Will it be a new special expansion like Aces? An Imperial Huge Ship? A Scum Preview. I'm betting they will space them out, and that we will get a preview for one of the ships available in Most Wanted in the next week or two.

PS, also don't want to look too forward thinking. I am LOVING my Rebel Aces. Keyan and Jake have arleady proven themselves as potential list mainstays. Looking forward to testing out Gemmer and Nera this weekend.

I'd love to be able to talk about some more things from Wave 6--but it feels like they might be dialing back their previews for the next wave, or at least trying to match them better with anticipated release dates.

I'm not expecting a new product announcement till December. November at the earliest, and that would be another Aces/Most Wanted type expansion.

I am sure they will do both, still new stuff does sell more items as everyone is quick to grab them. But just because they are making new stuff doesn't mean they will stop making the old stuff. They just make fewer quantities but as long as new stuff keep the hobby growing they know that they will gain new customers who will need the old stuff.

We will get something before November, I can just about guarantee that.

Not true. Whether you read them all at once in the articles or on the forums piecemeal through bits of people's posts, once that info's out there it's out there.

My guess is tomorrow or some time next week for another scum preview; though they could wait until 5 wave launches. There are 7 ships to spoil before december so unless they want to do 1 a week until release or multiple in a week I would expect we would start seeing them soon. There really isn't anything else for them to spoil for a while unless it is imperial huge ships. its way too far out for wave 7. There is an "Aces" release with wave 6. So the only thing to spoil for us is the wave 6 ships.

I just want more announcements because I am tired of the current sky is falling, OMG Fat Falcon, OMG Phantoms, OMG Dash is so broken you dont even understand.

With 'Rebels' premiering very soon I really wouldn't be surprised to see something related to that... my money is firmly on the Gozanti Cruiser to fill the holy grail of the Imperial huge ship.

Given the Inquisitor flies a precursor to the TIE advanced maybe that will get some love in the same set... though I fear the backlash if much anticipated standard goodies get packed in another epic ship!

I suspect that FFG blew their preview wad on and around Gencon. Rebel Aces and Wave 5 were completely spoiled, and Wave six was also thoroughly previewed.

The only stuff left to preview is wave 6, which is already partly spoiled. They have to ration their preview articles for Wave 6 to last until a few weeks before that is released. Wave 6 has: most wanted, IG2000, StarViper, and Scyk - 4 packs. That's at least 4 preview articles, maybe 6 or so if they split Most Wanted up a little. Wave 6 is releasing in Q4 2014; probably aimed a couple weeks before christmas.

It's about 11 weeks until their ideal release time. If they're dropping 6 articles total, That's an article every other week. That's a pretty sparse article release schedule if you ask me, and that's being a little generous with the preview articles. If they only do 4 previews, that drops the rate of release to one article every three weeks.

I think they'll probably let us stew for another week or so and start dribbling in previews. Also, at some point between now and december, there will probably be another product announcement, but that is harder to predict. I think we can expect to see some hint of it before the release of S&V, though.

So don't hold your breath waiting for Wave 6 articles.

Obviously you weren't here when we had articles about once a month. Wave 6 articles will be starting soonish.

S & V has four ships so will probably be four previews. So seven total.

As for the preview themselves, they are there to generate hype and the helps move product.

And they don't spoil everything, we often have to wait for points costs.

But the Most Wanted Pack is more like the Aces packs. In fact, they could easily split it up into 4 preview articles, because the sheer amount of cards it has.

I'm hoping they spoil some of the Most Wanted contents. Oh, my precious Y-wings...let's see what happens...

They'll do individual spoilers for Most Wanted (potentially breaking up to cover the different ships separately if they really want to the stretch the mileage), Scyk, Starviper, and IG-2000. That's at least 4 or 5 previews, along with the wave 5 shipping now and release notices, so you have probably 3+ months' worth of announcements in the big without any new product (or even going into Armada, Imperial Assault, etc. that aren't X-Wing-specific). Plenty of stuff to cover for a December or later release.

I am way more interested in Wave 6 than 5, so I want it to arrive, but would really like to have a couple months with Rebel Aces and Wave 5 first...

Don't forget, they also have the S&V Firesprays and HWKs to spoil. I would think that'd be another article, outside of the one or two for the Y-wing and Z95.

I'd just like to know when Wave 5 is actually coming out.
