If i have Corran and Marksmanship and use Marksmanship. Does the effect of Makrsmanship last through both attacks
corran horn and markanship
Yup.
Yes it does.
Yes.
Yes however you can only turn one focus into a crit from both attacks. So you might want to save for the 2nd attack
SO it does carry however i can only get i crit total

That interpretation of the card text never occured to me. I suppose you could indeed interpret it that way if you really want to.
I think that when you attack this round, you do everything after the comma. When you attack again this round, you do everything after the comma again.

Except it says when attacking this round. Not when attacking this phase or when you perform an attack. This round is the key word.

"This round" means that the effect does not last for the rest of the game. Without it, you'd perform the action once and get the effect forever. Maybe "this round" has a second meaning. I doubt it, though. The above is the first and more important one.
Edited by dvorStrictly RAW I agree, it does say this round and that would include both times you get to attack. If it just said "when attacking" then you could use it to turn a <focus> into a <crit> both times.
I expect how ever to see a FAQ or errata for this, removing the "this round" part. But hey I could be wrong and they'll keep it that way.
Edit: Looking at the FAQ it says the following...
When a ship performs the Marksmanship action, its effect is applied during each attack it performed that round (for example, it is applied to both attacks granted by Cluster Missiles).
That doesn't really address the 1 <focus> into a <crit>, but I think you could argue that the effect includes both, and so it does apply to each attack, so you can convert 1 <focus> into a <crit> on both attacks.
In the FAQ it says "If using the Marksmanship effect", then says you must convert one <focus> into a <crit>, and above it says the effect can be used on both attacks. So I think there is an argument to be made that the one <focus> it talks about applies to each attack, and not all attacks that round.
Edited by VanorDMThe trigger is still "When attacking". That is a single event, and the " this round" is a conditional. Should we also read things like Outmaneuver add only working once the entire game because you have to be out of arc?
I can see how you might read it like that, bit it's contrary to how effects generally work in X-wing.
The trigger is when attacking. The this round part is only to make the effect work from performing the action, until the end of the round.
So you can turn one focus into a crit 'when attacking' which means twice in the OP
And the FAQ actually addresses this nicely already (now that I'm somewhere I can get to it):
Yup the FAQ does clear it up, I stand corrected
Key points there: "During each attack", "apply the entire effect".
I agree, I edited my above post to say much the same thing. The FAQ does address the issue rather nicely.

Look at it as a slightly better version of performing a focus action. It gives you the crit and isn't a "one use per round" deal like focus. Which is probably why I see Markmanship used with Han and Gunner so much.
I still don't see how it was confusing.
Grammatically, it reads correctly for what we've now agreed it does ie. attack is the trigger, and this round when you attack, you conduct the entire conditional clause.
To be grammatically correct for the way you tried to read it, it would have to say
"When attacking, you may change all [eye] to [hit], additionally, once this round, you may change one [eye] to a [crit] instead."
Except it says when attacking this round. Not when attacking this phase or when you perform an attack. This round is the key word.
A "round" is the Planning Phase, Activation Phase, Combat Phase and End Phase. The whole lot. So if an ability says "this round" or "once per round" it's going to be anywhere within those phases, but it's usually defined on each card as to any more specific timing.
"When attacking..." is normally in the Combat Phase, but in Corran's case it will also apply in the End Phase. And as he can attack in the Combat Phase and the End Phase, his use of Marksmanship would fully apply both times.
If you could only turn one [eye] to [crit] I wonder how many people have played Han + Gunner + Marksmanship wrong for year. You want that [crit] on the first attack to make sure your opponent wants to prevent it and then again on the second attack just to punish them.
