Destroyed my defender

By force kin, in X-Wing

Unbelievable, I saw this thread the other day when there were only a couple of posts, but its now hit the 5th page! All because some careless doofus broke his toy and expects the manufacturer to replace it for him.

It just goes to show that the squeakiest wheel will always attract the most grease.

To the OP, a whole bunch of people that are far better than you have given you the best moral advice hear but you've failed to listen because your an immature and selfish person. A supplier gives out free replacements when they figure that there is some chance that they may be at some point responsible for the loss. In this case as it is acknowledged by your words that this is not the case. All you are doing is showing contempt of the system of goodwill, someone trying to milk the big guy for all his worth. That is not a very moral path to take.

I think you should grow up and learn to take some responsibility for your own actions, instead of blaming the rest of the world for failures. You need to grow a spine, move on and go buy yourself another toy to replace the one that YOU carelessly broke YOURSELF. If you can't afford to buy another one straight away then you can play with the one you fixed until you save up the money so that you can.

Everyone else should move on too, the more we fuel this guy the longer his pathetic flame shall burn.

I think that's enough internet for you, big guy. I hope your vitriolic hyperbole was sufficiently cathartic. Maybe take up fishing?

I haven't taken advantage of any good will, I've asked for feedback on a suggestion to write a letter fully disclosing what's happened. That this has caused you so much angst and fury I can only imagine relates to your sensitivity to references to the short bus.

For what it's worth, as soon as I get home tonight, I'm going to write ffg letter, only because you've reacted like such a petulant troglodyte. I'll be sure to update this thread just for you with pictures of the replacement they send me.

Thanks for keeping this thread interesting!

Liberal scum. Time to put on your big boy boots and stop asking for hand outs.

It kills me the conservative mind set so opposed to universal healthcare but all for a publicly funded police force and military, I'm English and I really don't get the let the poor die mentality the ultra right wing has.

This is a less extreme example of course but why so very opposed to helping someone with a genuine problem, heck on these very forums we've helped replace a guy's collection when it got stolen.

OP`s tried to fix it and amusing as the result is its clearly a valid reason to ask for a replacement, yes some people abuse the system that's true of any thing from the dole to tax credits but that doesn't mean you stop helping everyone that's just spite.

There are not moderators in this board?

I saw some insults flying and "flame rekindling" in the last page that was totally unnecessary.

What a thread!

What a thread!

Indeed. I really enjoyed this topic for a while, but I'm afraid I'll have to start reporting it now. It really makes me sad :(

Mods here are very, very, inactive. It's a shame, really.

To the OP, I love the way when a person so lacking in moral judgement like yourself is referred to as immature, they quickly reach for a thesaurus and start using words that are so rarely used in plain language. Did you spell it yourself or did you have to cut and paste it in from somewhere else.

You say you were looking for feedback, actually no, you were looking for justification for your proposed actions and others to prop you up as your spine has deserted you in your moment of need! What this is, is just another small example of the welfare state expectation of society. You probably will write that letter and you probably will get a replacement. Does it make it right? No it doesn't. Do you deserve it? No, no you don't, you haven't done anything to earn it and that is called bludging.

Yeah I have an ATTITUDE! Yeah well big deal I'm old and grumpy and worked hard all my life and have rarely ever recalled a favour. Besides I have nothing better to do at the moment than have a go some childish Star Wars nerd that needs a good dose of attitude adjustment.

NOW GET OF MY LAWN!

Yup, you're an old loser. I figured as much. Enjoy basking in your skewed sense of moral superiority. Alone. In your basement. :D

Well at least I once had something to lose, whereas you will probably never have it to lose in the first place!

Oh and I'm glad we agree upon whom has the moral superiority!

I'm sorry. I feel bad for bugging you now. I take it back.

Best of luck, man. Keep on the sunny side :)

I agree with the first part of your post - and the last part, but I'd rather talk about healthcare vs police.

I reckon it must simply be mean-spirited selfishness. The stats are out there for anyone to see, it's common sense - pay people a decent wage or else subsidize their substandard wage with social programs. Don't fund social programs and ultimately subsidize the same problem by building jails and hiring more police officers.

Like being "tough on crime." Many of a conservative mindset look at Nordic countries' penal and taxation-social program dynamics and scoff - "40 percent income tax?!? Art therapy for prison inmates?! It's not fair!" - again, the numbers speak for themselves. Far lower crime rate, far less pollution, far higher scores on nearly every standard-of-living metric.

It's mind boggling.

Bore them stupid in prisons with art therapies, that's more than enough to keep me away from a life of crime too!

So I guess every person whom has ever accepted a free small coffee from McD's when they're promoting their brand, or have taken a free food sample handout at a grocery store while shopping also has no respect for community? After all, the costs for the product they hand out and the wages of the persons doing the work are paid for buy the products they sell. Those costs are also passed on to the customers through product pricing. But why is it they hand out these things? Because it makes customers happy. Happy customers keep coming back.

I for one would like to see this game stay popular and last as long as possible. If replacing models for customers whom accidentally broke their models helps that, then its all good.

To those with an issue about this... FFG can set their customer service standards as they wish, and if you have a problem with people taking advantage of FFG's kindness, then your issue should be with FFG, not the customer. If you really think your having to pay for these "hand outs", and don't approve, then don't buy FFG's products. You people can b*tch all you want, but who's forcing you at gun point to buy anything?

I can't stand spineless, know-it-all, interweb mouth pieces. It's so cowardice to mouth off through the safety of your computer screen.

Don't feed the trolls people, shoot them with Report missiles (the defender can't evade[only the Derpfender because of its PS Blue], but they tend to be DoT and don't have any effect unless enough are applied).

Once a thread gets to this point I only have one thing to say. Bacon!

Hey all you tight arse welfare boys should go on a date together and then film the action when the bill arrives at the table. I reckon it would be like someone threw a live grenade on to the table, with everyone ducking for cover. LOL!

Sorry dude are you referring to yourself with all that name calling, isn't that the same cowardly behaviour you abhor so much?

Cowardly.

I find it rather funny how the guy who is worried about the cost of the models being a fraction of a cent more because of "hand outs" is making judgment calls about people being cheap and on welfare.

Would Darwin approve of universal healthcare?

In the great words of Mr. Scrooge Mc Duck "Decrease the surplus population"

Sorry mate you need to do some homework. I have never said anything about cost of models in any of my posts. All I've been doing is trolling the OP because I think he is undeserving of a freebie in the case that he damaged the Defender due to his own carelessness. I'm not having a go a people on welfare, I'm having a go at people on this forum that think they can just boldly stick their hand out with the expectation that FFG will, should, might just cough up, its a welfare mentality. People should harden up and take some personal responsibility for their own actions. In the case of the OP he should just put up with his dilemma and move on and pay for his error. If he gets the freebie he learns nothing about the value of anything. If he goes out and buys a replacement he will atleast learn to be more carefull in future. Some of you people here also think this way, you have all sorts of arguments about looking after the customer etc. but all you are really doing is looking after yourselves and justifying your attitudes with twisted, self centred arguments. You were brought up on a diet of Happy Meals expecting a free this or that because you ate your dinner.

Yeah I got a bit rude with name calling but it certainly got your attention.

I was born in the last year of the baby boomers and baby boomers have constantly been called the selfish generation. We are blamed for destroying the planet because we wanted it all. OK its mostly correct, but we PAID our way, we worked hard and reaped (raped) the rewards, we understand the ethics that if you want something you have to work and pay for it "FIRST". Most of us don't have credit card debts because we understand the value of the things we earned or bought, whereas the next gens think you should have the reward before you do the work, little incentives that keep you happy and focussed. The worst thing we late BB's did is have kids. The generations we have created have become the laziest brats this planet has ever seen. You expect all the things your baby boomer parents have, but the difference is you are too lazy to work for it like they did, you expect it all for very little work in return. You run up debit on rubbish, you eat rubbish and you waste your lives away in front of computers. So many countless wasted hours glued to the internet discussing the most pointless and insanely mundane tripe, (this forum is so bad for it). Pointless subjects, grandstanding about mediocrity and pathetic parade of the huge numbers of posts you log up like trophies when really you should be ashamed at the time wasting that these numbers really reflect. Next time you are on You Tube watch a video called "Look up" and think about the meaning of the poem. I have trophies, they are for achievements in yachting at a world class level. I have done some pretty good things in my life and I will probably do some more amazing things too, I do a fair amount of reading on the internet and occasionally when I am interested I say something to help out or inspire others. Sometimes I read a thread like this and I turn away or dismiss it. On a rare occasion, some dork like here gets to me I have to let loose.

You really need to have a good hard look at yourself when you think its so important to you that when and old troll like myself invades your cosy little cyberspace that you have to defend it so much.

I will go toe to toe here if you want, or until a moderator wipes the slate, I don't care. I go back to work from leave tomorrow and I probably won't surf here again for months, sadly you........ Someone called me a troglodyte in an earlier post, yet I in the last few hours have laid 15 square metres of paving out in the sun, I have played with my child today and have done quite a fair bit of housework like two loads of washing, swept floors and planned dinner tonight. Sorry where was I, thats right I was about to call you a troglodyte, sitting in front of your computer with your poor real world social skills and vitamin D deficiency, fitting description, really, isn't it. You will still be here worrying about and discussing pointless build lists or watching unboxing videos (OMG) and wanting so much to be liked by perfect strangers. I think I like it better when I am liked by people that really know me, not the cardboard characters your generation is turning out to be. You can have it all, just PAY FOR IT FIRST.

I feel like everyone values everyone else's opinion too much. Just disagree and let it go. I've never seen anyone effectively intimidate or put someone in their place via internet forum. Lots of effort to do so, but with an abysmal success rate.

Im in the you shouldnt ask them, right or wrong, extra cost or not camp, but didnt bother posting until so far. But the way the TS is putting all the people who disagree down by trying to belittle them is really off-putting, and really tells a lot about this whole topic.
