Destroyed my defender

By force kin, in X-Wing

Why would anyone damage a perfectly good model to get the same model?

Doing it in the hope of getting a blister I get but not just for the model.

I had some pegs that were damanged in a house fire a while back i offered to buy replacements but ffg decided to replace them. Maybe they can give the op a deal on just the ship

Honestly if you cant afford to replace a $15 item you need to rethink your finances, involvement in the hobby etc etc

Who are you ?

I ask, because maybe you can solve my finance problems too. Should i stop having long showers too ? Any other life changing decissions you can make for me ?

Stop showering all together and ditch your girl/boyfriend they are just a drain on your resources, if you have kids adoptions always an option.

I'm sorry children, I'm going to have to sell you all for medical experiments.

Just take a block of soap and carve it as close as you can to the Defender. Spray paint and problem solved.

FFG should not replace it. You were the one who was responsible for breaking it. It had nothing to do with anything FFG did. FFG should not be dumb enough to replace your miniature. Then everybody on theese boards could make up a story and say they broke it and then ask for a replacement. It does not matter if you have a wife or kids, FFG should not be responsible for providing you free miniatures. I have a wife and kids, you don't see me trying to rip-off FFG.

settle down, little guy.

I think it came out rather well.

Nobody can say it doesn't have character. If and when this thing finally falls apart, ill send a letter to FFG. They gotta hook me up after seeing what a great job I did in trying to retain my model. I'm clearly not taking anybody for a ride here, in fact I don't think it would even be possible to ride in this - even given the elastic conception of physics used in Star Wars.

Just imagine how bad it's gonna feel losing to this thing.

You are 100% correct. When you knock the mirror off your car does the dealership pay to replace it? When you drop your tablet and shatter the screen does apple/samsung/whoever pay to replace it? Why should ffg pay to replace something you broke?

Dude, it is glorious. It is the most derp look alike ship i had ever seen. Seriously it is just awesome on its own.

I can hear it whispering "kill me... please..."

Customer service and player retention, thats why. It costs them almost nothing to send out a replacement and in doing so they assure a happy and engaged user of their products.

She reminds me of Galactica. Even after the old girl gave all she got and a more, even after she was broke, she still fight for the sake of her masters.

You gotta a hell of a ship now! Hope when she finally go is in a frakking style.

I would feel bad already shooting at the..."thing". :)

It's Delta Squadron Pilot!

I'd let FFG decide whether they want to replace it or not. "The worst thing they can say is, No."

I agree with the idea that if you broke it, you pay for it. But if FFG is willing to replace it, then why not try for it? If FFG's customer service is good enough to replace peoples broken ships, then I can't see them factoring those costs into the retail costs of their products. It wouldn't make sense to annoy the majority with higher expense just to keep a small number of customers happy. And even if FFG does factor those costs into their products retail, then so be it. What do you think FFG's costs are for producing each ship? So even if they handed out say 1000 fighter replacements a year (which is probably a really high figure), what do you figure that combined cost devided between all the product they sell would work out to? Probably not even pennies on each model. I personally would be just fine paying that extra cost for that kind of replacement service. Sounds like a good insurance policy to me!

its a bit ridiculous people claiming that FFG having good customer service and issuing a handful of replacements make your models cost more!

I can guaranteet that ten times more go out 'free' as trade and management samples than go out as replacements.

For what its worth in my case, FFG were really sound and said that letters like mine made their job more interesting and they were happy to help out.

Honestly the ships probably cost them very little.

In my case I asked if I could buy separate components in the case of the tie int and tin /ln.,. They *chose* to send me new ones.

Just as well FFG have a sound and intelligent customer service department and not a load of bitter grouches like some people seem to be.

:)

At times I did customer service in addition to my main job when i worked at GW and we *always* tried to go out of our way for customers. I once had a lady ring up who had bought 'kings and things' (a game we sold in the early 80s) at a car boot sale but it had no instructions and she asked if we had a spare set.

Like i say, it had been out of print for over a decade but i drove to the fireproof archives in another town down the road where we stored a few of everything ever made, photocopied the set for her and posted them on.

Didnt have to do that, she didnt buy the rules off us, got them second hand.. probably cost the company about £50 at least in my time/man hours etc but it was the RIGHT thing to do for a customer.

Treat people well and they stay loyal, say 'sorry not my problem' and not only do they possibly stop buying but they also whinge about you to everyone.

So it's Agility value is, what, -1 now?

So it's Agility value is, what, -1 now?

+1 because its flight is now erratic making it harder to track.

Hey now, let's all calm down! In spite of those who will argue that FFG should do this, or shouldn't do that, we need to remember that FFG is old enough to make its own decisions.

In the long run, it is FFG's decision and not ours!

I for one trust their judgement - after all, so far they have not sent replacements for the wave six ships I claimed to have lost, which was pretty smart of them to have figured out. ;)

Why all the hate? Yes, he broke his ship. What do you care whether or not he gets it replaced? it has NO effect on you guys whatsoever.

I love the derpfender. I would have it as the main ship in my squadron called short bus, and probably paint the cockpits safety yellow.

I think you should keep it, personally. It's got a story and there isn't one like it.

I'm definitely keeping it, and the shortbus colour scheme is a great idea! Next wee bit of free time I come upon , that's happening.
