FFFFUUUU green dice!

By Hobojebus, in X-Wing

So I was around my friends today and we played the cr90 refuelling scenario and the first shot my friend made was at range five against soontir he got one hit and a crit so I rolled six green dice and get six blanks.

Next turn he's taken out, now I don't know that this lost me the game but the scenario ended when he got off the board and I was two hits away from crippling that big beast and some hits from fel couldn't of hurt.

Hate you green buggers so very much.

It's seems as the more defense dice you roll, the more likely you are to miss. I don't know if anyone else has that experience, but in my experience, there is no such thing as luck. lol!

Yeah it's why I don't install stealth devices they consistently fail me.

Put a hammer next to your green dice when you play. The threat of death might make them roll better

I normally agree, but in Epic Stealth Device on Soontir is nearly mandatory...

... and this is why:

Assuming this was from the primary weapons, you would roll a 7th die with Stealth device, or a 7th and 8th die if this was turbolasers. If Soontir turtled with focus+evade, you only would have needed one eyeball or evade result. There's a 62.5% chance of getting it with each additional die.

I remember seeing an entire thread recently about the treachery of dice...

I was considering installing some Discipline into my Xwing dice buy lining them up and executing one of their number with a 3lb lump hammer, But i realized that i would soon run out of them and they are not cheap to replace....

Your dice, strong with the Dark Side, they are.

The scenario does not let you give him anything except push the limit sadly, and focus is worthless if no eyeballs turn up which was the case tonight.

And if he wasn't a mandatory part of the mission I would not take him with a turret on the board he's too open to bad luck I'd rather take a defender instead.

Someone sure paid them in thirty really small silver coins.

Ah-ha! I hadn't played the missions yet. That explains it!

Yeah I thought so so I wanted to clarify it :) you get three ties fighters on two hits each and soontir as must haves then you can take 75 points of your choosing.

I'll take soontir for a proper dogfight any day but against a four attack turret he stays at home and has some hot chocolate if it's my choice.

Sounds familiar to my game the other day involving Mr. Fel.

First round, cpt. Yorr and fell roll all hits and kill Biggs.

Then ended up with 2 damaged blues vs full health Fel.

3 crits rolled to hit against him, all blanks, 2 direct hits and a minor hull breach. We laughed so hard at that.

If your going out, might as well go out in a bang eh.

Nah, I would just stick them in a glass of water and throw them in the freezer.

Well there is a reason why they made evades less probable than hits. If matched 1 on 1 the evades would be canceling everything out and don't even think about attacking a high agility with a lower firepower stat.

but then you run the risk of the ice melting and they could roll agian. death has to be final :P

The running joke with my group when I throw defense dice is exactly that. I've a history of rolling worse when I roll more than two defense dice.

You guys are blaming the wrong source. It's not the dice that are the problem but rather Murphy who influence the outcome. If I ever get the divine chance to meet Murphy I'm going to kick Him in the nads as hard as I can. Though seeing as it's Murphy I will probably roll a real life critical failure and miss the slippery bastard.

(that won't backfire in any way)

Thinks to self, anything but a blank or evade, evade, evade.

Rolls all blanks.

It makes sense why all the rebels die so fast in anh they were using the same dice as me.

Green dice are the devils work. 5 evade on whisper the other night. 1 evade, 4 blanks. Pop went the expensive ship. Vexed I was....

My dices are more subtle, especially if I have 1 hull left and the enemy will naturally roll 2 hits. If I picked:

- A focus: I'll roll 1 evade and the rest blanks.

- An evade: all of my dice will roll focuses.

What my dice consistently tell me: use push the limit to get a focus + evade!

Since its a sound advice, I have not executed any of my green dices... yet.

Would this be a bad time to say that I used my Rebel Aces for the first time in the league last night, and my Jake Farrell Vaporized an undamaged E-wing with Proton Rockets? Have been on the other end countless times, but it sure feels good when it works out in your favor.

I just wanted to jump in and say that I LOVE Proton Rockets. Sadly, you're left with a 2 attack ship afterwards.
