Ok, the point is to have Vader in Advanced, and a Defender. Preferably with a Phantom, but that is more flexible.

Here's what I think:

Drop Vader. Cause TIE Advanceds are utter osik.

The point is to incorporate Vader into a list. Vader + EU and Outmaneuver actually isn't to bad.

Here is what i am using in the TC open you can keep the name and most of the ships! (Though I called it the Echoes of Command)

Echo+FCS+VI+AdvC

Vessery+Outmanuever

OGP+Vader

Till they get the advance its fix I wouldn't use it as a building point.

I'd go with a Squint or grunt Phantom instead of the Delta Squadron guy, but then, I'm not a big fan of the Defender.

I used that list the other day and Vader was awesome and echo as well of course but the delta really was the weak link.

Tie Advanced, are basically overcosted, and a jack of all trades in a game where it is best to be specialized. They aren't really bad, but they aren't worth the points with the exception of Vader maybe.

I've only played with vader, they need to release more pilots for it to maybe make up for it

But the list does focus on a defender and Vader...he just isn't in an advanced. Echo is there for the FCS TLs for Vessery...and well for being an amazing piece for damage.

The problem is the pilots just flat out aren't worth it without a cost reduction, except maybe Vader again.

Yet another person doesn't read my whole post........

Some people just hate the advanced becuase it is pricey.. Vader is the best in it, and is still hard to make work sometimes. When he's in play, some will focus down on him and remove him early, others wait til end game knowing his 2 die attack isn't threatening.

It will be interesting to see what they do to better it, but I still like to throw him in a game from time to time.

Let us know how you do, amd with what list you finally use.

I do like this list though..

I'm not by any means saying it's bad, but it's not in my parameters I seem to have to keep restating.

I like Vader with Squad Leader personally. Passing off an action at range 2 to either Echo or the Delta is always nice. I don't see anything wrong with the list that you've presented, but dropping Outmaneuver for Squad Leader frees up a point. You can put Veteran Instincts on Echo to bump him up if need be, or an Intelligence Agent if you choose.

Veteran Instincts assures that Echo will fire and recloak as soon as possible. With Squad Leader, you can pass an evade, TL, Focus, or Barrel Roll to either the Defender or Echo as well. The range 2 of squad leader means you don't need to necessarily be formation flying either..

That might work.

so going with what the op actually wants

Vader Wth engine upgrade and squad tactics (35/36 pts, I don't remember what he starts at)

rexlar brath (37, don't remember his either, but I'm pretty sure its 37)

sigma squadron wth spa (27)

if my memory is right you'll be at 100, or have a point to play with. If you do have a free point, I would switch the sigma for phenir with v.i.

I have trouble with Vader in a 3 amigos style build without 2 other high PS named pilots.

I feel like Vader works best with one other good named pilot and 2 lesser pilots.

I don't think there is anything wrong with your list but it doesn't scream "great" to me. I'd drop EU and Outmanuver, decoy Echo and give Vader some other EPT or a Proton rocket.
