Hi guys

Some of you may remember that a few weeks ago i was looking after my mates dog as my friend has got terminal cancer and a few months to live and wanted to go on holiday and couldnt take his pets.

During that time his dog mauled up and pretty much wrecked some of my ships including my tantive.

FFG were very kind in replacing my lost small ships and Joe at MINIATURE MARKET offered to help sort out my tantive.

I was very greatful at this and thought they would just send me the damaged plastic ship or parts to repair mine (perhaps from returns or damaged boxs)

They actually sent me a full boxed tantive.

Now here is the point of all this

I cant use two C3Pos, or leia organa cards, or han solo crew cards and i know the 3p0 card is very desirable.

So i'm going to auction them on ebay and give all the proceeds to cancer research, if you want a 3po or a han or a leia card but dont want a tantive i'd encourage you all to bid generously on them. Its too late to help my mate but it might not be too late to help someone elses.

yeah i know its against forum regulations but as im not doing it for profit I'll put links to the ebay auctions on here, it will be a couple of ten day auctions starting on thursday (so it will end on a sunday so the most people get to see it).

Is it worth listing the ramus antilles as he would be of some use to someone with a rebel transport as he's huge ships only?

Hope nobody objects and that some of you will bid when i list them later this week.

This board is odd at time, while it tells me three people liked my post it also tells me its had 0 views?

edit: thats better, 22 views now. I'd like as many people as possible to know im selling them on thursday so hopefully a lot of people bid on them.

I'll start them off stupidly cheap like UK 10p each so someone could get a steal.

I think this is a really nice idea Gadge, whether it breaks forum rules or not. If there's any hassle about posting an eBay link would you kindly message me personally when you list it. I for one would like to at least put a (couple of) bids in!

I'd be more obvious about it but my friend 'doesnt want anyone to make a fuss' and equally i dont want him to know his dog caused any damage as he's got bigger things on his plate than feeling any misplaced guilt about an accident that couldnt have been anticipated

Gadge, why not auction the damaged Tantive separately as well, as either parts for a terrain piece or as a repair job? Just a thought.

Gadge, why not auction the damaged Tantive separately as well, as either parts for a terrain piece or as a repair job? Just a thought.

If i'm honest because it will make a good wreckage/scenery piece as suggested by others and i've already stuck 'flames of war' flame effect cotton wool to the holes

I've no idea if they would go for it, but it might be worth emailing a few of the big x-wing blogs to see if they might post up an article/drum up some support.

You might want to get in contact with cancer research uk (or whichever charity you opt for ) and make it official.

It's a great idea, but this sort of thing needs to be transparent from all angles.

I'll be listing them around 6pm UK time today. That means with a 10 day they end at reasonable hours if you're UK or US on a weekend by my reckoning?

Gotta be today to get 10 days anyway.

I'll be donating all the monies from the sale of these *bar* ebays final value fee. I'll obviously contribute the listing and provide free shipping. The only reason i have to cover the final value fee (which i'll make clear to everyone) is because if someone is amazing altruistic and hypothetically it goes for a *lot* of money, well ebays cut could be a fair bit.

The whole reason I was asking for help replacing the tantive is that due to health reasons i'm not working full time at the mo and can't afford to replace the wrecked one myself. Rest assured though I will not make a penny out of this for myself and I'll make it as transparent as possible by posting up as much informaton as i can here.
