Tantive Mission - Can I add a Transport for Commandpoints?

By Tumbadar, in X-Wing Rules Questions

I'm playing the Tantive IV campaign and only the last mission is missing. I have 100 commandpoints to build a squad. So i thought about adding 1 or 2 GR-75s to shock my opponent. Two of them (one on each side) with EM-Emitter would be a nice way to protect the Tantive, rush over the map and hopefully crash a lot of small imperial ships....

but I'm not sure if that is allowed or if i can only at small and large ships for my points?

I'd say no. Since Huge hips are only allowed in Epic play, they aren't really a part of normal squad building. Neat idea, in theory. Since it's casual I'd say go for it anyways, because I wanna see how it works

I don't see why not. This is epic play we're talking about anyway... So I don't see why a epic ship wouldn't be allowed.

I'm pretty sure missions are different than epic.

The FAQ says...

Ships with the epic icon next to the card title on the Ship card can be fielded only in Epic Play. They can also participate in specific missions of Cinematic Play when called for by the mission, however these ships cannot be fielded in 100-point squads of Standard Play.

So I guess it depends on how you read that.

One way would be that ships with the Epic Icon can be used in Cinematic Play when the mission says so, which means Epic ships are allowed as part of the list building.

The other would be that only those ships called for by the mission are allowed.

Seeing how all Cinematic games are inherently casual right now, I'd say it would be up to the people playing.

That's how I read it. Didn't think of the other way though.

But yes, scenarios are always casual, so if you wanna do it, go for it! I'm curious as to the results
