Just, you know. Right?
Can we please do something about 3PO on falcons threads?
hahah, i'm going to have to complain about this thread in the complaining thead.
Feel free to use that thread to complain about me complaining about you starting another complaining thread!
In all seriousness your title here was my initial thought for my post about 'whinging' but i thought to be fair i'm as sick of the following threads equally:
1. Fat Han
2. Phantoms are broken
3. Why no huge imperials ship (seems to have died off now)
4. Why a 3rd faction (likewise people seem to have got used to the idea now)
Yes, maybe we could give it it's own sub forum...

Imperial Huge Ship threads aren't annoying, it's just everything there is to be said has been said. "Designers don't know **** about this game broken op broken op stupid designers" threads are the annoying ones.
they are annoying when they go around in circles.
I get that people felt there should be one by now but at one point every other thread was 'why armada and no huge imperial' or 'why S&V and no huge imperial'
For the same reason multiple threads about fat han are annoying it was annoying that the general tone of the forum seemed to be complaining ![]()
(i by the way see the irony in this post)
I actually agree with many of the complaints people have, and I know that complaining about the complaints is becoming as clichéd as the complaints themselves, and to be honest I'm guilty of reposting things people have already posted (as you can see) because - hey, what's more fun: complaining or clicking back through the thread list to see if it's already been discussed? But I couldn't resist.
Are people really complaining about lack of huge imperial ships? But the only huge imperial ships you could have in X-Wing are ugly EU monstrosities (which we'll probably see), not in the same league as the awesome, iconic ships from the films. Ooooh, circles again.
So, how about climate change then?
So, how about climate change then?
It's a myth. Buy/use moar fossil fuels.
edit: Preferably to burn things with.

To play devil's advocate, if someone did that to me after I complained about Fat Hands I'd point out that the existence of one squad that can beat it doesn't mean it isn't a problem.
Fat Han is a problem.
As long as the problem is there, posts will be made about it (hello 9123rd TIE Adv. discussion).

Hells yeah, burn baby burn!!
"Wipe them out, all of them!"
"Nooooooo!"

Im not saying he's not.
A bigger problem and more vexing to me is people who cannot contribute to the existing ten threads about him and start new ones so we can all go over the same ground.... again... and again ![]()

To be fair, I've glad for it. I've nothing better to do at work.

False.
Fat Han is a symptom.
TIE Phantoms are the cause.
While Falcons have always been popular, they only started becoming widely prevailant following the release of Wave 4's uber-arcdodger.
In any case, both Falcons and Phantoms are only perceived problems; they only exist as problems so long as people think they are a problem.
You cannot kill a forum topic. It will always return...

Most people have perceived this "non-problem" as dominating competitive play since the Phantom and C3PO have been out. Until that changes, the "perceived" problem is more real than those who deny it.
TIE Phantoms are the cause.
Forum hysteria is the cause, namely "omg broken ship, stupid moron designers who couldnt possibly know better than me grrr" threads, directed that time at the phantom. Everything that phantoms are ostensibly good against stopped being played, so Falcons thrived.

Unless you actually can't beat them, and almost everyone I argue with about this claims they can, then the problem is not their power but their prevalence. And that's because everyone keeps claiming they're overpowered and they're believed, so people play them. Every "3po op ban ban ban" thread is a highly public advertisment for playing Fat Han lists.
Edited by LagomorphiaSome cards translate differently from the game to the forums.

C-3P0's ability translated to the forums is:
Once per day, before you refresh the FFG X-wing Forum Page, you must guess that the number of "Fat Han is OP" threads is zero. If the number of "Fat Han is OP" threads is equal to your guess, one "Fat Han is OP" thread is added to the Forum before the page loads.

False.
Overpowered doesn't have to mean unbeatable.

Claims they can with novel, interesting squads that they've come up with for fun and which haven't been designed as a counter to Falcons, or claims they can with a special squad? I don't play in competitions much, but my understanding was that the problem was with the rock-paper-scissors nature of squad building now, where you can often predict who'll win as soon as the squads are revealed, and that's come about because some squads easily beat so many others (which seems like one definition of overpowered).

The card says that you can guess any number of threads, but you guessed zero .... because you wanted a guaranteed Fat Han OP thread, didn't you, MajorJuggler?

Well this is the problem with the C-3P0 card ability on the forums. In the game you get the choice of when to call it and how many evade dice to call.
But on the forums you have no choice, you must always use it and call 0!

Fat Han was a problem even before the Phantom came out...only now the usage is even more pronounced.

Never said it did. I said making "3PO OP" threads is putting up highly visible adverts for playing Fat Han Falcon lists.
Can we please do something about "can we please do something about" threads?
Make a battle report video showing Fat hand build demolished by a TIE swarm and use it as a response to every thread. Keep repeating the link until it sinks in?
And when someone makes a battle report showing a TIE swarm demolished by Fat Han, so we can post that as a response to every time the above is posted, until it sinks in?
The thing I'm really tired of is how the issue is degrading the community. We have the usual hateful responses, we have the typical spam complaining about the complaining, and we have generally productive, intelligent posters falling all the way back to "Showing that it can be beaten in one battle by a specific build and that proves there's no problem with it", which is inane even before you get to the "Just shout it repeatedly to prove you're right".
