Shadowsheath

Awesome concept. Seems very limited by just a little wording. It says it "is available for any Melee weapon small enough to carry on one's person."

What is small enough to carry on one's person? What kind of distinction is that?

Why would it be limited to Melee weapons? Why not a blaster rifle?

Melee weapon? So NOT a lightsaber? Wouldn't a shadowsheath be most important to someone trying to hide the fact that they are a Jedi? What would stop the sheath from hiding a blaster or a lightsaber? The distinction confuses me.

I think it would be far more useful if the word Melee was taken out, and "small enough" clarified.

In this instance, I believe "melee" refers a weapon used in a melee, not a weapon that uses the Melee skill. So it would still suit a lightsaber.

Which would make more sense, but then why capitalize Melee? I still think blasters should get some love from this.

It's a capital M, which means weapon that uses Melee skill.

If I had to guess the sheath is only effective because it works for less oddly shaped weapons with thinner structures - anything bigger and the camouflage technology becomes too obvious. So... I guess that's why you couldn't use guns with it? Maybe? But at the same time, it doesn't make much sense that you can use this thing to hide a Vibrosaw but a Holdout Blaster Pistol just wouldn't work at all.

Description could use some updating since, as you mentioned, most every Melee weapon that somebody will carry is something that can be carried on their person.

This was what the Highlander and all the other Immortals had to carry their swords.

There is already a concealment holster for blasters.

It is restricted to holdout and light pistols which makes me think that the sheath will be similarly restricted. I'd think it'd work for a knife, but probably not a sword.

It says, "... specifically designed to conceal a single large-bladed weapon in a sheath." Sounds like its meant for swords to me. I expect you'd have a problem trying to conceal a vibroaxe or Selonian Glaive though.

Yeah, I'd limit it to any one-handed melee weapon. Of course, weapons with Encumbrance higher than 1 gets some setback dice to any attempts to conceal them, IIRC, so those would be added as well.
