Innsmouth: Easiest win ever?

By awp832, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

In a 1-player game, if the investigator is Onee (starts with a gate trophy) and the first Mythos card drawn is "The Next Act Begins!", "Strange Sightings!", "Intermission", or another card that doesn't open a gate, does the Investigator win by a "Close" victory?

Until the game is errattaed to not allow this (i.e. a gate must be closed), I'd say probably. Heh...

I'd house rule that the first mythos card needs to open a gate.

Don't think so..

Rulebook says:

-An investigator must close the last gate on the board,
such that there are currently no open gates.

-When the last gate is closed, the players must have a
number of gate trophies equal to or greater than the
number of players. These gate trophies do include the
one just awarded for closing the last gate, but do not
include any trophies the players have spent.

You must close the last gate, and when you closed the last gate.

And as there were no gate opened, you didn't close any.

Heh... I was hoping there was text like that in the manual, but I didn't want to go searching for it :') thanks.
