So it took longer to get to Washington that Sydney. Did you take the Pony Express Delivery Option?

About the only people still waiting are the folks in Brisbane or Far North Queensland. But then their book got the boat from China to FFG, then the plane to Oz, the train to Brissie and a pack mule to their local post office (Somewhere west of Bourke or Timbuktoo).

So, essentially you are poking fun at people who are still waiting on their pack mule. :D People that may have had their book already for a couple of days. :P

Even the folks in Alaska who were getting their books off a sled powered by Huskies have had their book for a few days.

By my reading of the UPS tracking history en route from Miniature Market, the sooner you get this book, the closer you are to Missouri.

Missouri.

Really.

I don't care how many copies of F&D you have, being closer to Missouri is not something to brag about.

I've been waiting weeks now. I live just thirty minutes outside of brisbane city, and my copy is only just arriving next Friday. Which completely sucks that I have had to wait till now. Also arriving on the same day is my copy of far horizons. Yay. Now all I have to do is develop enough of an interest in age of rebellion to buy it, unfortunately I like the concept of either being the scum and villainy of the empire or a jedi more than being a rebel.

Hey Bertha is workin' on it mate. It's a long way from the Back of Bourke to Brissie. She'll get there. -_-

Just one question: who or what is Nelson?

I'll probably get someone to tell me later but I'm awake and wondering now!

But I had mine at GenCon so I can beat you to it.

You have an awful lot of television to watch.

/sniff

To be young again....

Geeze - I was pretty hammered last night. I only vaguely remember putting this up!

(Remember - friends don't let friends post drunk!)

You have an awful lot of television to watch.

Still, at least she didn't say "What is Doctor Who?" - which is a point in her favor!

Anyway, Nelson Muntz is the lead schoolyard bully from The Simpsons . His signature schtick is pointing and going "hah-hah" at other characters when something bad happens to them.

But Missouri loves company.

Sorry.

This is a true story. Sorry for bringing all of you done, but oh well

My Dad's family was from Missouri. He hated the place. My grandmother used to visit a friend in Missouri. They had an outhouse. An Honest to Gods outhouse. Dad finally put the kibotz on that trip, as she way too old to be on a farm using a freaking outhouse.

Where does my Dad pass on? ******* Missouri.

Somebody or something has a twisted sense of humor.

FFG might be located in Missouri... Either that or Mississippi. I don't know my states too well.

Also, good ol' Bernard is hustlin' on down here to the good state o' Idaho as fast as his legs will carry; I placed an order on Wednesday, and by golly, I'm gettin' it the next Wednesday!

ALSO, has anyone else noticed that half of the threads Desslok posts tend to be nothing but funny gifs, and then get thrown off topic as we find better things to do, and he eludes to not really being thinking when he posted? I certainly have.

I know right? If you don't live in Missouri, you have nothing to brag about. Living near Missouri means you probably live in East St. Louis (Illinois) or that pseudo-Kansas City in Kansas.

In all seriousness, Miniature Market is located in the southern part of St. Louis County, so that's probably why.

Also, why all the hate for Missouri?

FFG is located in Minnesota. It's north of Missouri.

My family is from Tennessee. My mom’s side of the family is from Lexington, TN. The family farm is located right next to the Mt. Gilead church that they helped found and build generations ago. To this day, that church still has an outhouse as the only restroom facilities. At least it’s been fixed up to the point where you are not sitting on unvarnished wood planks….

There are no restroom facilities on the farm.

Sadly, I do live near Missouri. That state just south of it -_-

Just one question: who or what is Nelson?

The clue you missed is the "Subtitles for Haley" tag at the beginning of that sentence.

Yes, Haley is young, but I don’t think that’s the reason why she doesn’t know who Nelson is.

Her braille screen reader can help her read the word "Nelson", but it can’t help her understand the GIF or the TV series from which the GIF is derived.

To Desslok’s credit, he did at least provide subtitles for Haley (or go back and add them), even though he didn’t realize that she wouldn’t get the cultural reference.

And that’s more than I would have done, because Haley is such a regular on this forum that it never even occurred to me that GIFs or video clips might need subtitles to help others get the reference.

Well, now I really feel like a tool.

Well, now I really feel like a tool.

Don't worry; this was all discussed on another of Desslok's joke pages where he showed the future of FFG (spoiler alert: it was a lot of dough, and not the bread kind), and to expect everyone was there would be irrational.

ALSO, has anyone else noticed that half of the threads Desslok posts tend to be nothing but funny gifs, and then get thrown off topic as we find better things to do, and he eludes to not really being thinking when he posted? I certainly have.

Well, if by half you mean "twice", then yes - you would in fact be correct. Otherwise, whatchyoutalkinbout, Willis?

(another reference that is absolutely guaranteed to go over Haley's head!)

I must be more out of touch than I thought. I though ALL the kids these days watched the Simpsons!

Likewise, and even got my copy signed by a number of FFG staff as well as Jay Little (no seal of approval though)
