Crossover unranked talents buying mechanics

By Rockwater, in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG

If you have an unranked talent and you buy an other specialization tree in which you have the same unranked talent, It count's has already bought. But can you continu to buy talents from that talent in the new tree or you must start from the top of the tree ?

Example : EotE Universal tree : Force-Sensitive Exile you unlock "Touch of Fate". Later you buy the AoR Universal tree : Force-Sensitive Emergent. "Touch of Fate" is technicly bought so can you start buying any of the linked talents of "Touch of Fate" which are "Grit", "Sense Danger", "Balance" or "Force Rating".

Any insight would be appreciated. :)

Depends. There are some talents that this counts as. Some are unranked and you don't buy them again. Sort of a one-off talent, if you will. These are usually, from what I've noticed, in the third row of talents or even further down. I would say no, you have to start at the top and buy them just like any other specialization tree.

No, you must start from the top. Even if you have one talent in the third row the rules state:

"to navigate to a new talent, the character must have already purchased all of the preceding talents listed on the tree, so that he can draw a "line" from the top of the tree, through purchased talents, to the new talent. All such descents must follow the available lines shown on each tree."

You have to work your way down again, however once you reach the previously purchased unranked talent you "skip" it and can immediately start buying talents that connect to it.

is there a rule somewhere that says this.

Talents that are not ranked can only be purchased a single time. If a character is advancing through a specialization tree and reaches a talent without ranks that he has already acquired from another specialization tree, then he automatically purchases that talent on his new talent tree without spending experience points.

Sorry, the above was from the EotE rulebook. I'll edit to clarify.
