Would be nice to see some FFG 'support' releases.

Plenty of ships at the mo, perhaps too many for some.

But battlefields seem to consist of mats and card templates which is a shame.

I'd like to see FFG release some asteroids, preferably with plug in or out 'reseach stations' for 'cutting the cord' mission and others.

Space containers would be cool, also the senators shuttle and small space stations /refueling ports.

would certainly make the game visually better.

I *know* loads of people make these third party but i'd personally like official models that were already painted i can just buy and bung on the table, i've got the skills and bits to make things like space stations myself, i just dont have the time.

To me making one scenery release per wave would allow FFG to prolonge the life of the game, give those who dont want 'S&V' options to buy and to keep them interested until new reb or imp stuff comes out.

Some FFG rulers would be nice too, some of my card templates are beginning to come apart a bit.

I agree, would indeed be nice to see some game enhancing products. In fact, I posted a similar thread a while back:

Objectives & Obstacles Speculation Thread

The cancellation of the board tiles expansion makes me wonder if we'll see anything along these lines, though...

Atleast asteroids are easy enough, just pick up a few rocks and you're done! (Even Charly Brown managed to get his hands on a rock) I agree FF should put out some nice plastic rulers and templates (preferably transparanet red and green)

sorry fella, i missed that first time around.

I'll have a look now.

I'd also like to see a 'yavin' set with a mat and turrets, or a 'battle over endor' mat with a low orbit view of endor from way above it, enough to see green landmass and blue water etc

No problem, it was posted aaaaaaaaaaages ago so definitely worth discussing again anyway, and good to see that other people are thinking along similar lines.

Personally I own two 3x3 vinyl mats for the game plus the Battlefield In A Box asteroids - I would much prefer to support FFG directly instead of picking up 3rd party products, but if they're not available...

As i've probably said a few times.

I use a BFG games workshop felt starfield map that is 6x3

Fold it in half for standard games and unroll it as needed for larger ones. As its felt the ships dont move if anyone nudges a table leg. Does pick up dog hair and need a brush down every now and then though :)

I bought some third party asteroids that i'm happy with as they were cheap but they were just lava rock on clear stands glued to photocopied asteroid templates that had been laminated.

Tempted to make my own and flog em cheaper now i know how its done...

There is a matt set at the store that is labeled "Out of Stock". I think they are content to let 3rd party and home hobbyist to handle things like that.

It'd be nice but I don't want to get into GW terrain shenanigans where you need to buy the latest star fortress to compete.
