I guess I should say, whoever attacks you first. That'd be neat. As for costing astromechs, man I don't know, I have no clue on costs.

It's OP considering the crit result is ALWAYS two damage, regardless of shielding, or whatever an alternate crit card might be. It would have to be a once per-turn thing, and I think you should maybe have a target lock on the craft targeting you. That actually might be incentive to have lower PS ships TL enemy ships instead of always using Focus... something to think about at least, especially since Y-Wings have that 1 agility to start with.

Only thing is those were poor man's battle droids. Meaning it was usually a low powered blaster soldered onto the top. So it should be more like roll 3 attack dice, if all are hits, deal one damage to the attacker. Since those blasters would have to be pretty lucky to even do more than a glancing hit.

How about just make it a 1 attack dice 360 turret with range one? You can fire it once per turn when you use your regular attack. Counts as a secondary weapon so no bonus for range one. 3 pts.

That seems good. The original idea is cool too but it's insanely good for 3 points (they don't roll defence dice? REALLY?!), this is a lot more balanced and something I would be quite happy to have against certain ships like the Falcon or the shuttle.

Well the reason I had them not rolling defense dice was because one attack dice is just... Piddly. It'd -never- work against things like TIEs. MAYBE on 1 agility ships, and how many of those are there? I mean really. "Aight I'm just gonna' laugh at your 1 attack dice and roll like 3" -Most Imperial ships. It just wouldn't be worth the points if it wasn't a fairly sure thing, kinda' like taking torpedoes. Who does that?

yeah i cant see an astromech being able to mount a blaster capable of hurting a star ship.

Like note how the stormtroopers cant hurt the falcon with hand blasters or even concussion rifles and have to bring up a tripod mounted heavy blaster? Well you'd have to mount something that size on an r2 unit just to get 1red dice IMO

Han's heavy laser pistol seems to do a lot of damage to the walls in docking bay 94, so something that small might be able to damage a starfighter. But it's not going to be very accurate, especially in a space skirmish. Maybe something like this would only hit if you rolled a crit, and it would get downgraded to a standard hit.

The whole idea seems silly to me, but could be fun for Scum.

Well first off I doubt that and R2 could harness enough power to even damage a star ship. So I don't like the idea. I mean star ships are huge and have massive power generators, and even they can barely damage other star ships, so why would an R2 be able to damage a star ship and make it have no defense versus the attack.

A little over the top. May a chance to give a stress token to the enemy. Like roll 2 attack dice on a hit, the enemy gains a stress token on something.

I don't like it. Realistically, those weapons wouldn't do anything to a ship. These are like blaster pistols. Chumpy little nothings, that might leave a black spot on their freshly painted ships. The weapon just seems too weak to implement into the game

I'm hearing some interesting stuff... the possibility of a separate attack for the droid entirely is also pretty neat. Y-Wings aren't exactly craft that are slinging all guns (unless they have torpedoes!) so having the droid attack being different from their blasters is cool. Here's another variation:

Blastromech Droid: 3 Points, Attack (Target Lock), 1 Range 1-2

After resolving an attack on an enemy ship (even one outside your firing arc) you may roll 1 attack die and resolve the damage. You may use this attack only on a ship you have target locked or have previously spent a target lock on.

how about we take the hull of a droid, fill it with the guts of a seismic charge, load it in the mech slot, then, when an enemy is on our 6, we arm and eject the astromech? Now that seems like a dirty pirate trick that could do some damage!

The only ship Scumechs can go on is a Y-wing though, which is famed for turrety goodness.

Make it like an Anti-Pursuit Laser:

After you roll defense dice for the first time each round, you may roll one attack die. On a {Hit}, the attacker suffers one damage.

Only once per round, excluding crits reduces the damage output... Honestly, for that, 3 points might seem a bit hefty.

I could get on board with that idea. Certainly seems more useful than strapping a blaster to a droid's head.
