Any word on Rebel Transport back in stock?

By heychadwick, in X-Wing

Any word on when it will be back in stock? If I get it from my local game store, I can use $15 store credit for it. That takes a chunk out of the price. I can only get it for full retail otherwise. There are some good pilots and droids in that set and I'm eager to get it in at the local. I'm concerned that it will take months to get.

...that and I'm trying to decide to get Rebel Aces or Rebel Transport. Since people love B-wings, I presume here people wills ay Rebel Aces.

I've seen them recently at Barnes and Nobel. And there's a 15% coupon right now.

If only there was a red dot clearance. . . .

It's all in stock all over town in Minneapolis. Why don't you ask your local game strore when they are getting it back in.

Local game store says "Whenever they make more". That means that distributors don't have it. An online shop I like for discounts doesn't have any and their response is the same. If I want it in the local area, I'll have to pay the full $60 for it, as opposed to $45 at my local store or $36 + shipping at web store.

The more I look at Rebel Aces and the Rebel Transport, the more I don't seem to care about the Rebel Aces. I really want the X-wing pilots and astromechs from the Transport. I don't even care about the Transport, itself. I do need my first B-wing, but I also want Ten Numb. I've got an alt card, but need the little stock bit for the stand. So, I'm tempted to just get a regular B-wing instead.

The X-wings from the transport are absolutely great, BUT...don't discount Rebel Aces. It's a great, great expansion.

To be honest, I think it's the astromechs that I want the most. There are some real winnners there.

Rebel Aces......doesn't excite me so much. I haven't found A-wings to be that exciting and the B-wings don't excite me that much, either. I'm sure I'll want them, but I'm wishing I had the Transport more when I make lists.

It does all depend on your style of play of course. However, I can assure you that A-wings pre-Rebel Aces and A-wings post-Rebel Aces are not the same ships.

Additionally, the named B-wing pilots in Rebel Aces are both FAR superior to the original named pilots in the B-wing pack (especially Ten Numb).

Our FLGS has about 7 Transports in stock... granted, they're a bit over-priced.

I've borrowed the B-wing and been running this list with good results:

Etahn A'bath w/ R2 and PTL

Wedge w/ R7-T1

Ten Numb w/ Vet In.

Etahn plays defensive and allows the crits. Ten Numb allows 1 crit to always go through. I've been chewing up Phantoms even when they are cloaked.

I haven't tried it vs. a Falcon yet, but even if all crits are turned face down, that's some damage getting through that can't be dodged.

I went to Tampa Bay Comic Con this past year and Cool Stuff Inc was there. They were selling CR90s and transports for 35-50 bucks. Why may you ask, because the boxes were broken. I am kicking myself for not getting the transport, but I did get the CR90.

I'm all for supporting your FLGS, but if they are not stocking enough of a product, and you can readily get it elsewhere, get it elsewhere.

I love my LGS, but some things are hard to get and sell out quickly, like the Rebel Transport. I only saw one in stock and I saw that only being carried to the register right before the guy bought it. There are a lot of Tantive IV's still around, though. Maybe he got shy since they didn't sell? Anyways, he also gives 15% discount on standard prices, so it's worth it, too.

I also just realized that my birthday is 18 days away. I'm sure to get some cash for that. I can probably get BOTH now. OK....I'll probably just have to suck it up and buy the Barnes and Nobles one for too much money. I'll look for some decent coupons online or something.

MM = Minaiture Markets! Duh.......

Yeah, they have it for $49 after shipping. That's a decent enough deal, unless I can find a better coupon for Barnes and Nobles. Thanks!

transport sounds like a very cost effective ship. My builds cost 50 PTs only.

I'm still kind of regretting not getting a corvette when it was on sale but I think I'll live. It costs a lot. And would be better in huge ship combat, which the imperials still have none of. Cough.

Unlike Imperial Aces versus TIE interceptor, you're not missing much in the B-wing blister compared to Glorious Rebel Aces.
