Q3 is almost gone and still no movement on wave 5
this is the wave I have been waiting for since first word of it. please o please get this thing to us faster than you did the aces.
from the looks of things we will be lucky to get wave 5 by xmas. which only adds to my hatred of them having it for sale at Gen Con. those people will of had it in hand and playing with it for 3-4 months before the rest of us, again I call BS.
While I share your enthusiasm for the new ships, why is it that so many people can't live in the present? Play your Waves 1-4 and Rebel Aces, my friend. We can all enjoy the massive influx of turrets making maneuver-dependent ships irrelevant at a later date.
At GenCon they said something about Wave 5 shipping in Oct, I'm thinking that they meant that's when it would be shipping out to them.
According to my long and complicated studies and equations ive been working on since wave 5 was announced.....

I wonder if Wave 5 will be legal at Worlds. Will they rush to get it out before Nov. 7? At this point, they'd be pushing it.
I would like to think if I (we) raise enough stink about the slap in the face of releasing something at Gen Con almost a quarter of a year before releasing it to everyone else, would get them to think about how dis-satisfied many of us are at the disparity of those who have the ability to go to the Con and those who cant.

No amount of posting will change how fast they can make, paint, package and ship Wave 5. Also the fact that some people are upset that some people got toys before them won't change anything.
If enough people refuse to buy Wave 5 stuff in protest then maybe. But until that happens, FFG is not going to change how they do things. As long as Wave 5 isn't legal until it's official released, then no one is really harmed by some people having Wave 5 early.
you didn't have to go to GenCon to get your copies of Wave 5, there are plenty of them on eBay!

This is the reason I've decided not to attend the Worlds event this year. I don't think they will make it in time.
It does say "Expected by" and not "Promised by".
Meh, Netrunner wasn't released until November and the SWLCG wasn't released until Dec. One was available at Gencon and the other was given out to pre-registered attendees at worlds. I don't see how Wave 5 is a bigger "slap in the face" than those instances, since you couldn't even play the game yet. Or better yet, those that won the Falcon and Firespray at Worlds 2012 or from the Kessel Run? Considering that what was purchased at Gencon is the exact same product that will get released, I fail to see the issue with some having it early.
And if it isn't released yet, it won't be legal for Worlds. The Tournament Rules are pretty clear on this.
just wish they would move it to different cons...
Reading through FFG Webmaster's posts is like visiting a thread graveyard.
Anyway, I'll just say that I'll be very glad to see wave 5 ship, since my rebel aces order is also shipping with it because I am a cheapo when it comes to shipping.
Also, I'm glad that FFG has the courtesy to keep us fairly well appraised of the release schedule. With certain other leading miniatures companies, you're lucky to have a few grainy images the week before. And if you want to know what's coming up in the next few months you have to sift through endless rumors, many of which are pure wishlisting.

This is no slap in the face to a mini gamer. I see no problem with what they did at Gencon and good on those who bought them and aren't scalping.

Please release more codices faster, you aren't obsoleting recently available products nearly as quick as I would like. It's a slap in the face to people like me who don't want to play with or against Eldar, and if you don't do something soon we'll be forced to boycott your products.

Totally agree, for those among us that are very impatient, this is kind of a torture

I have played orks since rogue trader (and collected marines, tyranids, chaos marine and chaos demons as well) I have sold off all but my orks and most of my marines. those will be hitting ebay soon enough.
GW has lost touch with the gamers who buy their products and the lemmings who refuse to see that and keep buying their crap because its the cool thing to do, are missing out on many better games out there.
oh wait, did I mention my first army was squats, what? you don't know what a squat is? that's right, GW simply alienated an entire army because (from what I have heard, I have no proof) someone upset Gav Thorpe and he refused to include them in the game any more.

I am not bitching about them selling wave 4 at Gen Con, what I am bitching about is them selling them at Gen Con, which means the product is ready for release. all the play testing, I dotting and T crossing has been done. the upcoming page says Q3, so the product is ready for release but they either choose to wait or production was pushed back for some reason which leaves those of us who are unable to attend cons to purchase these items. unless we want to throw 3-4 times MSRP on an ebay auction so that guy who doesn't even play this game can make money. so that's it in a nutshell, selling a finished product in limited release to people who's only intention is to flip it to make money while the true fans of your product must wait until you get around to releasing it. I know not everyone who bought at Gen Con did it to resell so don't think me that foolish. just as I am not foolish enough to pay out the ass for wave 4 on ebay.
and make no mistake I know I am bitching. sometimes it takes someone to stand up and say, "hey wait a minute, what the hell?" to get someone's attention for a group of people who feel left out.

Note the bold...I dont know who you think you are standing up for...from what I have seen here the vast majority of us dont care and were acutally pleasantly surprised it was there...now we can at least hear from a few people who actually have it and get more solid ideas on how it works. We do hear what you are saying...I too am an escapee from GW (Always good to hear of another Greenskin!!).
The product may be ready ruleswise and they are currently in production at the printer. To give you some background I work in the purchasing department of a major electronics distributor and logistics company. Its insanely easy to get small batches of product shipped expedited via air from manufacturers overseas...its also stupidly expensive and not feasible for large amounts. I am highly certain that a small batch was ready...but the full wave itself is no where near done being manufactured. What they did is perfectly acceptable they were at a TRADE SHOW after all. I am sure they knew some scalping was going to go on hence the limit per person. They arent leaving any of us out what they pulled is actually fairly standard throughout their industry. Like you I am not dumb enough to pay what ebayers want...but then a fool and his teef are soon parted are they not?
Be glad they tell us when they THINK the product will arrive. What they have posted isnt a legal contract and they are under no real obligation to meet that deadline. I would rather have the product be a bit late than get unbalanced, not adequately playtested, and/or low quality product (early finecast anyone?) Being a fellow GW recoveree I am somewhat surprised to see you complaining. But you are entitled to your opinion...and here is mine:
