Stuck on Wedge's kit out

I'm at a 100pt tourney this week and I've decided on my list. What I can't make my mind up on is how to spend my last 4 points on Wedge. He should be getting a free action from Airen for a good few turns, but can't work out how to get the best out of this with Droids/EPT. I expect him to be target no.1 so maybe make him more resilient, but I want to make the most of his fire power too. Any suggestions?

Predator is never a bad choice.

Predator and R2, IMO. In this list Wedge is just about all your offense, so there aren't many other options.

More importantly, where's the tourney?

Engine upgrade, with arien you can get wedge in vision of phantoms, otherwise what others have said.

The problem I have with predator is that wedge can get the TL from the free action off Airen. The boost isn't bad but would make range 1 of Airen tough to hold on to.

R3A2 only works in your front of the ywing, so not sure its worth the points, I would consider dropping that for something else.

I would consider taking r7 astromech, if you target lock a ship and don't kill it, you can use the target lock as a defense against its attack.

Was looking at R7 but firing early with wedge means it'll probably get used on his attack and it doesn't give you much protection from any sort of focus fire, or gunner.

Had quite a bit of success with R3-A2 on the Y wing. I know it's front arc only but being able to stress and ion in one shot is pretty powerful.

I think x wings have too few actions to really benefit from airen as much as something with BR/evade would. A-wings will outrun him, but Etahn or a generic E might get more out of him than Wedge.

You're right there. I was really looking for a droid or EPT with an action header to have options, even though a TL focussed Wedge can really do some damage. I think R2-F2 will be the way I go with Determination. Hopefully Wedge will stick around a little longer. Focus with his action then choose TL or droid dependent on targets/threats.

It's a shame you don't have Chardaan Refit yet, because I'm really tempted to just say sub out the A-Wing for a Rookie X-Wing or Lt. Blount with a missile, or something. With your current list I think you should give Wedge R5-P9 since Airen can pass him Focus tokens if you can keep them together in formation, which shouldn't be too hard.

I find that having two support ships in a 4 ship build for rebels is not the way to go.

You need killing power and Wedge is your only workhorse here, so I'd either swap Cracken or the Y-, for something beefier.

R2-D2, shield upgrade or Hull for Wedge? If I saw that squad in front of me it would be "everybody focus-fire on Wedge until he is dead then mop up the leftovers" because he is the only guy that can really put out damage on a consistent basis. You have to keep him alive somehow and a Stealth Device on a 2 base Agility ship is a waste.

Unless said outmaneuvered TIE is bait. Otherwise, yes, he deserves to die a fiery death.

What ever happened to R2-D2. Sure you might not be doing green every turn, but if you do even recharge 2 shields durring the game he is well worth it.

When I play Wedge, I don't need ways to make him deadlier (more of a target). I need ways to help him stay alive.

Then I'd agree with R2D2.

How about Push the Limit and R2-F2? Then Wedge becomes one giant decoy because he could Focus then use PTL to activate R2-F2 every turn for the big Turtle.

Or, you can Take R2-D2 and PTL so you can do the following every turn: Green move, Target Lock, PTL, Focus, light up someone, Green move, Target Lock, PTL, Focus, light up someone, etc...

He just cruises around, flying casual, regenerating shields, doing Wedge things.

Yeah, avoided PTL though due to the extra action for Airen.

Give Wedge predator, then cracken's action can go to one of your other ships. A free evade on the a-wing is always nice. Or give the ywing a target lock to be sure the ion hits. By doing this you don't really need VI on cracken anymore (though doesn't hurt to keep it) so you can give him a different ept if you want.

Worried he won't be able to keep up with the flanking A- wing though and the Y-wing will likely being carrying stress from R3-A2 if things go to plan so won't be able to take the free action.

Thing I'm set on R2-F2 on wedge so he can stick around a while longer, seen as everyone is likely to gun for him!

Can't decide between Determination or Adrenaline Rush though.

As suggestion:

EPT: Expert Handling

Astromech: Generic R2

Gives you more maneuverability and get rid more easily of the involved stress token
