Have you seen it used? When?

I've thought about putting it on my Shuttles when playing Epic (against the Single Turbolaser).

Also in stress lists, like TacGunner shuttle.

I've heard people also use it on the Phantom? How do you like that? Does it taste good? Is it the right condiment? Perhaps too expensive?

I've seen the Jammer prevent 5 hits over the course of a game, on my Phantom. More than once.

Given that it normally only can take 3-4 hits, I am a fan of Sensor Jammer.

The problem is the cost, which makes it a bit tricky to fit it into my lists.

So, you think it is worth it then?

Do you have to work to ensure the attacker has no focus, or simply let the game run its course?

Or even, don't care if you fly the Phantom into the arc of something that doesn't have focus?

Sensor Jammer is so great, for when it just absolutely has to stay alive for just a bit more.

I personally get Fire Control System every chance I get, but I've made a Omicron, Omicron, Whisper build, where I just can't afford to lose the Phantom early. Sensor Jammer was inevitable on Whisper here.

The thing is that Sensor Jammer is not only defensive. If your opponent has a focus, you may force him to use it, leaving him more vulnerable for return fire.

Either way, you're forcing your opponent to make a hard choice, which is always a good thing.

Sensor Jammer is good against things like FCS and other target lock heavy attacks. It stop a hit from going through and being re rolled. It could be useful on bot low agility ships like B wing to high agility ships like Phantom and even a good way to stop gunner or Luke from doing any damage. The weakness is obvious, focus generators. So having a blocker or say Canor Jax is the way to ensure the Jammer works.

honestly the only time I've seen it used is Ibtisam / Sensor Jammer / Elusiveness, and it's pretty solid here. It prevents opponents who have done a Kturn from even being able to land a scratch on your ship most of the time, and once you block 3 or more shots that way it is well worth the 4 points.

Sensor Jammer is psychological warfare in X-Wing, and is great in builds featuring powerful but low PS ships.

Someone shoots at you, you flip a hit result to an eye. They can't reroll this result, so they need to decide whether to use their focus to cause damage (which you can still evade as normal), or keep their focus for defence...

Win win for the Sensor Jammer - either less damage taken, or a ship's been stripped of it's focus token for defence.

...indeed, Sensor Jammer + Opportunist could be a very nasty combo on someone like Corran or E'tahn, with 3 attack and 3 defence dice..

My favorite use of sensor jammer is to mess with a Han and gunner combo. Han can't reroll the die you change, and if he's focused, watch your opponent agonize over wether to burn the focus on the fist or second attack. I do think it's posted 1 point too high, although MajorJuggler can probably do the math and let us know what it should be worth.

I keep considering a defensive Ewing (Etahn or Corran) with Sensor Jammer, Elusiveness, R2, and Stealth Device. Just so freakin expensive!

Sensor Jammers are awesome. They basically take that ships who didn't get to take an action and make them miss. If you have played at all you know how messy the board can get. Even if they do take their action, it forces them to take focus and use it. This means they didn't TL (maybe to shoot you with Torps) or barell roll / boost.

I really like it on my named E-wings. E-wings are already so expensive and they can't take a lot of punishment. I feel like it is a good protection for my investment.

I don't really care for it on the shuttle since I like to keep them as cheap as I can, their defense is they lots of hull/shields.

I feel like the B-wing is also pretty good at taking damage.

Cost wise I wish it was a little cheaper, but points isn't the real cost here. The real cost is you EPT slot.

As has been stated, it's wonderful on phantoms. I like it on the ps5 variety with the stygium particle accelerator. Makes them very tricky to damage, and can really mess with your opponents game plan. If you get them to shoot and miss, you are that much closer to winning.

The downside being it's a Systems Upgrade, meaning it's competing directly with the equally awesome Advanced Sensors.

Being on the other end of a Sensor Jammer is very annoying. If it prevents one damage it is essentially a shield upgrade and the same amount of points. I think its a solid upgrade if you are going for a defensive minded build.

I think it's a solid upgrade. I love to use it when Carnor Jax is in the squad, but that becomes a pretty elite build.

Also, I don't think it works well against those Single Turbolasers. The defender modifies the dice first, changing the [hit] to [focus], and then the Single Turbolasers turn it right back to a [hit]. If they roll more than 1 [focus] it still saves you a hit, so it's not terrible, I guess.

I have had some luck with R7 and jammer on an ewing. makes it really a pain to hit.

You're right Only when decloaking you get the free evade plus the 2 focus. On cloack you get the free evade. I ve used this many times, and when you decloack can stand some heavy fire even with the low 2 agi

I've seen it paired well with the ORS. ORS blocks actions, forcing attackers to make unmodified attacks. B-Wings are a beast to kill when you're making unfocused attacks while having one die per attack turned into an eyeball.

Sensor jammer is my baby. I use it on 3 phantoms at a time and it makes people cry a lot.

3 X sigma with stygium, sensor jammer, and recon specialist or rebel captive

Rebel captive can not be overlooked when teamed with sensor jammer. The lower pilot skills make it easier to move and block on non-shooting turns than their 5 PS brethren. Leaves a point free for initiative bid too. Flown correctly tey are a force to be reconed with. I usually like divers lists, but they are hard to deal with, even for Falcons.

Of course, it also combines nicely with the stealth device to help get that little bit more use out of it.

But it really feels made for 'Opportunist', particularly if you have a lower-skill pilot than the enemy (so they are shooting first) - forcing someone to choose between spending a focus token or not is always a tricky decision, but it's made MUCH moreso when they know spending it will boost *your* attack, as well.
