Pass'em around: There's plenty for everyone. Katarn saves up Focus Tokens in the Moldy Crow and passes them around. I've used Dreis with him before but I needed some other ships. With Aces coming soon and with Farrell also liking Focus I want to give him a shot in this. Bandit's mainly along for the ride but with Katarn or Dreis able to pass him a focus it's even easier for him to use the Rockets.

Thoughts? Tips? Taffy?

Well the Proton rockets would be better on Jake. He is both more likely to be able to get a range 1 shot and he has the 5 dice shot. The timing of his boost/barrel roll trigger gives him some of the best maneuvers in the game. It does mean losing 2 points somewhere though. Probably R5-K6 since he means you'll have to take target locks with Garven which you don't want to.

A nice option for Garven is R5-P9 if you have the transport. He lets him heal a shield and pass the focus back to Kyle to keep with the crow.

I would look for an extra point to change tactician to recon specialist. Kyle does not generate enough focus to share (even with the crow) without it. Honestly I like Blaster Turret on him anyway if he has crow/recon, though better when he has predator too (and engine).

This is a list where decoy could be useful to switch Jake and Garven's firing order. Garven could take the EPT droid and take Recon while Jake takes VI and something else. Or Jake takes both to give you more utility of who shoots at 9.

Just some thoughts.

Yeah more of the Transport cards I look at makes it worthwhile to pick one up. It would give Garven more things.

I think the three crew I would most likely swap around on Kyle is Tactician (For Stress), Recon Specialist (for more candy) and Jan Ors (For when I need a new flavor). I should use the other turret next time and see how it goes.

I could make thinks interesting and let Jake share the 9 with Swarm Tactics.

I know at least two ships that hurt the Carnival: Dark Curse and Carnor Jax make my candy stale. Hopefully I can keep Jake out of Carnor stale inducing circle with Kyle.

If Garven has R5-P9, can he spend a focus token if he is at full health, in order to give it back to Kyle? I know you can spend it on a dice roll even if no focus symbols are showing, I'm wondering if this is similar. You could get a stockpile going on the Moldy Crow on the first turn.

I second the notion of putting recon spec on kyle. You have a lot of points dedicated to generating focus, so double your ability to do that. What i have found in a 100 point list is the focus battery does not do enough damage, or soak enough damage, to be worth it's points, but it shines in a 150 point list. YMMV. I would not go to blaster. If you do, kyle will be using all of the tokens he generated to aim and fire the turret. I personally favor a mix of focus gens and TL gens when you can. Tarn Mison would be one choice, and if you swapped him out for garvin you could put the rocket on him, as he is more durable. In fact, for the points difference you can buy him his own rocket or astromech. I don't think you will find that you are stacking focuses up on the crow from other ships like garvin, I think you will be using them as fast as you make them.

Kyle always flies with the Moldy Crow title, recon specialist and ion cannon for me. Otherwise he doesn't get in the team.

He works well with Garven Dreis yeah, just read up Farrels ability and I can't wait to get him in my team! Still waiting for Aces to ship though grrrr!

Thanks for some of the new ideas. After getting the Transport and with Darthfish and ID's for some of the other ideas. Garven is being saved for bigger conflicts with that R5-P9 with Tarn taking his slot. What's funny is that I'm giving him the R7 Astromech to give him defense with a Target lock. So the New Hundred point Carnival:

Bandit Squadron Pilot (12)

Tarn Mison (23)

w/

Flechette Torpedoes(2) / R7 Astromech (2) /Munitions Failsafe (1)

Kyle Katarn (21)

w/

Predator(3)/ Ion Cannon Turret (5) / Recon Specialist (3) / Moldy Crow (3)

Jake Farrell (24)
w/
Veteran Instincts(1)/ Swarm Tactics(2)/ Chardaan Refit(-2)/ Prototype Veteran A-Wing Test Pilot(0)
12+28+35+25
So bumping it up to hundred and fifty I'm adding in:
Garven Dreis (26)
w/
R5-P9 (3)
Airen Cracken (19)
w/
Decoy (2)
29+21
Four Ships at Hundred and Six at Hundred and Fifty. Kyle's worth more points now but not too much more.
Edit because I realized I was listing the Title Card Wrong for Jake

You could even sub out the ICT for a Blaster Turret: unlimited Focus + a Predator reroll is probably one of the only times it is useful, it does more damage, and it is cheaper.

I kinda like the list, and the 150 pt list looks pretty good. I don't like flechette torpedoes on anyone other than Nera, and munitions failsafe is a bad bad that promotes bad play. If you fire a missiles and the chance of doing no damage is high, then you should not be firing the missile. Tarn is almost always better off shooting normally for 3 points less.

I would take those points and drop the ion cannon turret to a blaster turret and add an engine upgrade to Kyle. Sure he is expensive, but he is awesome fun. Build up your focus to 8-10 then he can boost out of arcs and just be general awesomeness.

Alternatively the 4 points could go to a concussion missile for the Bandit, which is a nice long range option, with focus it is generally pretty decent damage, and even a 16 point bandit will get ignored long enough to get the missile off.

Swarm tactics is an odd choice for Jake, only because it is range 1 and he doesn't really want to be close to everyone else.
