Rebel list feedback :)

By Hxhexen, in X-Wing

With rebel aces around the corner i've been testing out squad builds and I came up with this build and wanted your guys opinion on it

100 points
Pilots
------
Ten Numb (40)
B-Wing (31), Advanced Sensors (3), Predator (3), B-Wing/E2 (1), Mercenary Copilot (2)
Dagger Squadron Pilot (30)
B-Wing (24), Advanced Sensors (3), B-Wing/E2 (1), Jan Ors (2)
Bandit Squadron Pilot (15)
Z-95 Headhunter (12), Hull Upgrade (3)
Bandit Squadron Pilot (15)
Z-95 Headhunter (12), Hull Upgrade (3)
one of the issues i've been struggling with is either dropping the dagger to a blue while bumping the bandits to tala's.
another one is ditching the hunters all together and go for a 3 ship build.
much feedback would be appreciated :)

At 15 points you could consider the Prototype w/ Refit. That's trading 3 hull for 3 agility but gets you Boost and Evade in the process and the A-Wing should make better blockers if needed.

That was something I considered and that is a struggle I know that the a-wing is superior with actions and dials trading hull for agi is always a tough choice. I appreciate the input though :)

Merc copilot will probably get one use at most in the build. Considering it costs you a point more I would probably go a different way.

As StevenO said, for 15 points, Prototype Pilot + Chardaan Refit > Bandit Squadron Pilot + Hull Upgrade. If I were only able to make limited changes to your list, that's what I'd do.

But if I were allowed to make more changes, I don't see a good reason to run Ten Numb here. He's very expensive for what he does, given that his ability kicks in only if you generate a crit and would otherwise miss with your attack. So that's 40 points I would claw back if I could; dialing him back to a Dagger Squadron Pilot + Advanced Sensors saves you 13(!) points without losing much effectiveness. "Demoting" him to Keyan Farlander + Advanced Sensors + Push the Limit gives you basically equivalent firepower for 5 points less.

And with those 5 points, plus the Hull Upgrades, plus borrowing a couple from Dagger Squadron...

Keyan Farlander (29)

Push the Limit (3)

Advanced Sensors (3)

Blue Squadron Pilot (22)

Advanced Sensors (3)

Jan Ors (2)

B-Wing/E2 (1)

Bandit Squadron Pilot (12)

Bandit Squadron Pilot (12)

Bandit Squadron Pilot (12)

Total: 99

I don't know if I'd run this list, but it all hangs together, and it has roughly the same shape as your original list but with a whole extra Headhunter shoehorned in.

Wow I really appreciate all the feedback and other options presented. Keyan is sure to be a power house for rebel forces that I see making a lot of lists that want him.

But what's the difference? A-Wing gets Boost (a 4 point modification) and Evade (a 1 point unique and ship specific modification) for 1 less PS (where 1 point upgrade can get 2 points of PS) so you're looking at 3 agility 2 hull vs. 2 agility 3 hull. That is ALMOST the "is Stealth Device better than a Hull Upgrade" debate EXCEPT that in this case the "stealth device" doesn't disappear the first time the ship is hit.

A sad thing is I want to like the Hull Upgrade on the Z-95 as it pretty much gives you X-Wing durability for 6 points, and 1 attack, less. Maybe on the named Zs and perhaps even the Tala (although Greens are so close there) but the Bandit really will have a hard time compared to the Prototype.
