[Commission paintjob] AEG-77 Vigo

By MacrossVF1, in X-Wing

The Vigo is listed as having *6* laser turrets, three times as many as either the Falcon or the Decimator as well as two additional cannon. I think that in the interest of balance and acting the knowledge that Wookiepedia is even more rife with fanboyism than most Warsie enclaves, we should assume they mean 6 lasers *in* turrets.

The Vigo could have a Turret 4 armament, but no additional missiles or bombs. Possibly a cannon to represent the two fixed guns in the description. Being of a similar size of the Decimator, keeping 3 crew would seem to work as well. Also agility 0 but more shields and less hull.

Pilot abilities are a bit hard to conjecture, particularly given the weird parasitic ones we have seen from the Small Scum ships. Should it be even more antagonistic to it's teammates, or perhaps bring something else to the table?

Oh and those tines on the front, they would be great as rails for a new kind of cannon...

here's one with a Vigo Flying alongside a Decimator.

Sweet f*cking lord that thing is huge.

Alright. Maybe 45m is fairly close. I really would love to see the miniature done up as larger than the decimator, as seen there. I mean... Just look how tiny people are compared to it..! It's gigantic!

Well that second picture with the Decimator certainly proves in my mind that a Vigo can't be much longer than 45 meters.

Captain Lackwit: I was certainly not offended. I'm well aware that many Star Wars ships are hard to pinpoint the exact size on. Just look at the A-wing, its size has been discussed for years despite being both well known and featured in the original trilogy.

Alright cool; and yeah Star Wars has always been a little iffy on these things but I gotta' say, it's a fair sight better'n how sketchy Star Trek is about their size discrepancies.

The Vigo's armament is so large that it should be the Scum Epic- but shouldn't an Epic be as big as a CR-90?

Well... No. No, it shouldn't- ask yourself this, are pirates more likely to have a frigate or a galleon? As a result, you could field more Vigos than Rebels could field CR-90s or Imperials their ships- it'd actually be pretty rad for Rebels to have the biggest, "Epic" ship for irony's sake. That or just make the Vigo their smaller epic, and release, iunno, an Action IV Transport.

But really.

This thing has a -ridiculous- armament.

That is incredible work, major Kudos. Its a shame you can only like a post once.....

* Vessel Height/Depth: 13.5 meters * Vessel Length: 45 meters * Vessel Width: 36 meters

That's the measurements I based the ship on, though only the length, as the height and width quickly proved to be very wrong. My calculations, combined with what I could extrapolate from a number of pictures, put the ship fairly close to 20-24 meters wide (can't remember the height).

I don't know that this visual comparison helps much but since it was easy to do I couldn't resist.

Just like the Y-8, it is the Tardis effect... I mean this ship was fairly big, but on the inside it was monstrous, sort of like 'vette missions, huge ceilings that made no sense unless you are a game designer.

I hate enormous ceilings in games. Corridors NEVER have to be so gigantic.

been lots of discussion about the right scale for this vessel, and based on the pics next to the decimator, I'd say it looks about right.

This is incredible! Nice work!

Awesome! I didn't have much time to play around with it and I most certainly didn't have a Decimator to compare it to. Always nice to see my creations on the tabletop.

Oh.

I withdraw my claim. That is about right.

Holy crow ; that is a Bad Azzzzzzzzzzzzzz ship...I think Guri deserves a pilot card for this puppy...
