I just downloaded and read through the Edge of Darkness PDF. Right now my group and me are thinking of getting into W40k, but would like to test it with the aforementioned adventure.

On the intropages it says that pre-generated player characters are downloadable. But it seems I can't find them.

Where are they actually ?

They were in the old version of the pdf, but for some reason they were taken out. I compiled a pdf of the premade characters from both Shattered Hope and Edge of Darkness a while back, though, so feel free to plunder that. EoD characters are the ones with full character sheets and no pretty pictures.
