Hi, I play the game for 3 years already and still do not understand the proper order of actions during one turn. We with my friend agreed on one home rule about this, but I am interested how it was designed by FFG?
Mostly it is about combats. When must combat happen?
Order of actions, as I understand it, is:
Turn starts
1. Upkeep
2. Movement (combat)
3. Encounter in town (combat)
4. Encounter in the other world (combat)
5. Mythos (combat)
Turn ends
If during movement I will move to the street and meet a monster, do I have to fight it right away? Ok, anyway my movement ends here, I fight the monster and win. I stay here and wait for the next phase. During encounter phase it happens so, that moster appears in my location. Do I have to fight him? If I fail, does the monster remains in the location? During other world encounter it is clear, I face monsters there and fight them. Then comes the Mythos phase and monsters can move to my location. But this is still a part of this turn, do I have to fight monsters right now if they are coming to my location?
In my home rule we have to fight monsters as soon as we face them, even during mythos phase. Is this correct?
