My god, it's full of A-Wings:

By Punning Pundit, in X-Wing

Oh how I loook forward to flying my A-Wing squadrons. They will surely be a blast to fly. Sadly they are somewhat hard countered by the two dominant build: Tie Phantom and FatHan. But hey, as long as it's not a tournament... :P

Not so much. An A-Swarm would give Han a run for his money, and possibly have the advantage. Against Phantoms, their maneuverability in a pure-A list would make it much harder for the Phantom to do its thing, and if you drop a ship to fit in Tycho, he can be geared up to hunt Phantoms. The problem is that one of these lists can only really be countered at a time. Best chance of a middle ground is Tycho and 4 Prototypes.

I would go even further to try to counter both falcons and phantoms at the same time. If you go just a bit more swarm you can easily do:

prototype a-wing, refit - 15p
prototype a-wing, refit - 15p
prototype a-wing, refit - 15p
prototype a-wing, refit - 15p
prototype a-wing, refit - 15p
jake farrell, push the limit, refit - 25p
You might not get initiative against academy TIEs for blocking but that might not be so bad. At the end of the day you have 6 ships so hopefully that is worth something. 2 attack dice en mass is pretty good against agi 1 falcons and you can try to block phantoms, but once the outrider comes out the 2 defense dice will be harder to crack.

The nimble dogfighter Squad:

Tycho Celchu
A-Wing Test Pilot, Chardaan Refit, Push the Limit
26 points
Jake Farrell
A-Wing Test Pilot, Chardaan Refit, Push the Limit
24 points
Arvel Crynyd
A-Wing Test Pilot, Chardaan Refit, Daredevil
21 points
Green Squadron Pilot
A-Wing Test Pilot, Chardaan Refit, Adrenaline Rush

In that list you really only need Test Pilot on Arvel, the rest have EPT slots by default.

Edit: Your squad is actually only 94 points, so you've got 6 more points to play around with. Perhaps add Daredevil to Tycho or VI to get an edge against Phantoms. Outmaneuver could give you an advantage over Fat Han as well.

My take on the list:

Tycho - PtL, Refit, Test Pilot, Daredevil

Jake - PtL, Refit, Test Pilot, Outmaneuver

Green sqdr. - PtL, Refit, Test Pilot, VI

Green sqdr. - PtL, Refit, Test Pilot, VI

Here's a A-Wing swarm-lite I came up with.

Green Squadron Pilot, Chardaan Refit, Predator x5

Why not Arvel: Refit, Test Pilot, Intimidation? Reduced agility on the ship he's run into.

Because a Green could do the same thing for 4 points less.

Not quite. Arvel can still attack the ship he's blocking. No more lost attacks to get that other ship to stay still.

Been taking names with this list for a couple weeks now

4X Green Squadron Pilot

- Refit, Test Pilot, Predator , Wing man, Stealth Field

100 points

pretty durable and the rerolls from predator give the A-wing's the bite they need while being able to k turn every round makes it a hard group to pin down

Shamelessly making the name of the list from one Thatoneguy's post:

"A wing ? Why not A+ wing?"

Green Squadron Pilot (19)
Push the Limit (3)
Proton Rockets (3)
Green Squadron Pilot (19)
Push the Limit (3)
Proton Rockets (3)
Green Squadron Pilot (19)
Push the Limit (3)
Proton Rockets (3)
Green Squadron Pilot (19)
Push the Limit (3)
Proton Rockets (3)
Total: 100
Alpha strike could be quite godly. Shame on the PS3 tho. Probably a 3 named A-wing list would do better with the same concept.

Way ahead of you btw.

Tycho

- Proton Rocket

- PtL

- Stealth Device

Jake

- Proton Rocket

- PtL

- Stealth Device

Arvel

- Proton Rocket

- A-wing Test Pilot

- PtL

- Stealth Device

100p right there, impossible to hit. Nuke something with the rocket and then fly around with focus and evade on top of your four defense dice, it will be tough for the opponent to even land a single hit.

I like the concept of all the wingman and k-turns. Have you fought with this list against a falcon, and how did it go?

It handles falcons well you might lose an A-wing before you can drop it but its a game of outlasting til you get it to the point that you can cluster in for a kill. The Outrider is a harder target for this list with the extra agility it gets and HLC denying that extra defense dice at range 3
