Whafrog, couldn't a Baron Harkonnen style repulsor belt be "created" to allow the Hutt to be more physical?
Lords of Nal Hutta: Hutt Space Sourcebook!
I need this in my fat, slimy, hutt hands like yesterday!
All I know is if the book contains a picture of a Hutt with a lightsaber, I'm burning it...
Hey now, the Force surrounds and penetrates us all living beings... just some of us are a little harder to penetrate than others.

This is going to be GREAT.
And the addition of Hutt PCs is awesome. Talk about a race choice with drawbacks!
Hutt power armour. Going to make a hutt hired gün. (If I ever get to play...)

Sounds good. Harkonnen was pretty agile when what's-his-name bit down on that tooth...
Of course, a suspensor belt will be the first thing for an NPC to crit
YES! YES, YES, YES, YES , YEEEEE EEEEEEEESSSSSSS!
(I like it)
And they're breaking their pattern a bit by introducing FOUR new races!
Sakiyans, Nikto, Ganks, and Hutts...
Poor Maelora… again
Hutt centerfolds, anyone? No, rather not...
Edited by SpraugAnd still no bounty hunter book. Sigh.

Nah, Force Leap is where it's at!
Okay, okay, I'm teasing now. But on a more serious note, there is one thing I like about Hutt PCs and the alleged Force-wielding Hutt - hopefully it means someone at FFG wants more variety in the species. If there's one thing about the Star Wars setting that I don't like, it's the severe case of "Planet of the Hats". Some Bothans smuggled out plans for the Death Star? Bothans are a species of spies. Jabba was a gangster? Hutts are crimelords. Han Solo was a smuggler and a fast pilot? Correlia is a planet filled with lovable rogues who are ace pilots...
Give me a Hutt Jedi. I don't care how silly it is, just let there be more variety to the race!
Oh wait i got more....
Punch that villain.. er nope.. gut sticks out further than chicken wing arm reach...
Pull yourself up that ledge... um..nope.. chicken wing arms... again...
Can i wear that suit of mando armor.. er.. nope...
Armor cost how much??? ya thats right.. 5 times the area... 5x the cost.
Blaster just ran out of ammo!... too bad.. arms to small to reach across body.. chicken wing arms... aaaaagain...
Need hat.. Giant tube sock....
Need pants...Giant tube sock again...
Need cold weather gear... double up Giant tube socks...
The only thing beneficial about a Hutt PC.. is it can escape being eaten by a Rancor, as long they face plant themselves to look like a Rancor turd...
UGH!.....
<all meant tongue in cheek><------------------------ HUMOR DISCLAIMER!!!!!

Sakiyans aren't too bad. Though the one from TCW looked like Megamind. and I admit I have never heard of a Gank until today, but looks don't particularly matter when your species is known for wearing armor 24/7.
Atraangelis,
What I see from your posts unfortunately is "Hutt is too hard a race to Role Play, so I am going to take my toys and go home". Challenge is good. If you cant think of a way a Hutt can do something Rather than treating like an exercise in yelling like a baby about it try to do the opposite.
Try to think of a way a Hutt CAN do interesting things. If you can't figure out ways (of which I already mentioned 2 in this thread) maybe it is time to scour the EU bookshelf and get to reading up on the dynamic nature of the race.
Sometimes going outside of your confort zone is when the BEST role playing happens. Maybe read "God Emperor of Dune" a great book in the Dune series about a character roughly shaped like a Hutt.
If after all that you still feel the need to whine about Hutts, can you please just start a whining thread that the rest of us that are excited about this feature can ignore? I know it is in gest (supposedly) but I want to see more creative and fun stuff how to integrate them into a team.
TL;DR, Whine elsewhere plz, or at least tone down the sarcasm to a bit less than Donald Trump.
Edit: changed tone a bit

Please reread my last post as i even put a disclaimer in there about tongue in cheek humor... your panties may now unwind...
You could probably make a case that Jabba was a particularly corpulent Hutt, and that skinnier Hutts are possible.
To be honest I'm not sure how I'd handle a Hutt PC in a game, but I agree with those who said that if any system makes it plausible, it is this one. The Hutt PC can be doing things that a Hutt PC would be good at, they don't necessarily have to be the ones leaping across chasms.
I had read somewhere that the Hutts were formidable warriors long before their rise as the galaxy's ruling underworld elite. So I don't see why they couldn't be playable as PC's.
The one thing I am sure about is that this is an instabuy for me. No doubt about it.
And in honor of the news:
Hutt PC, eh? You know someone is going to make a Hutt Pilot - and shoe-horn them into an X-wing. Just for the hilarity of it.

That's a whole different can of worms.
And here I've been meaning to take our campaign to Nar Shaddaa. Convenient!
This looks so awesome. Please announce the smuggler book..thank you.
very happy to see this book announced. It's an instabuy for me as well.
I was a bit shocked to see Hutt's as PC's, but it's workable if you plan ahead as a GM.
I'm just so happy to see that FFG is supporting Edge until it's complete-- as I'm totally vested into it. AoR will be pick-and-choose, and FaD might be too.. depending on how it looks.

Sometimes a Like doesn't cut it. That deserves a round of applause.
Can hutts applaud? It kind of looks like they can't. I'm picturing a Hutt comedian now: "thank you, thank you, thank you for the big round of slapping your hands against your fat. And by "big round", I'm not talking about Ziro's Mama. Ha ha, just kidding. But seriously try the veal. Oh, you finished the veal? Well then try the waitress! Ha ha! I'm just kidding, please don't eat our twi'leks. What's that? Jabba's in the house? Okay, let me correct myself there - please don't eat ALL our twi-leks. Ha ha! But seriously folks, I'll be here all night? Why? Because that's how long it takes me to get through the door!"
Edited by knasserIII want to create an Doctor Octopus style arm contraption just so a Hutt PC can do light sabre combat. =)
In what was arguably one of the worst Star Wars novels of all time , there was a Hutt Jedi that participated in lightsaber combat.
Less awful, but still pretty obscure, are the Shell Hutts . They're not terribly far off from your mechanical-apparatus-for-combat idea.
I am happy to see a Hutt Space sourcebook announced. Hopefully we'll see a Corporate Sector sourcebook before the line is done.
"An exiled Hutt Archaeologist in his custom Enviro-suit is with his Scout Surveyor droids as he "bumps" into a small Republic strike team checking a downed power station . . . "
