So in order to help abate the proliferation of this Fat Han, I thought it might be helpful to compile lists that would utterly destroy the Fat Han.
I'll start us off:
Bandit + Cluster Missiles x 3
Etahn Abaht
Green + Chardan + Squad Leader

I think that there are several lists out there that if catered to the Fat Falcon, can melt down that list. TIE Swarm is usually a good one to start as it negates the 3P0 + MF combo almost right away, bringing the ship down to it's base 1 evade die, which isn't that strong. Heavy HLC lists are another way to burn them down, Blue Thunder always did kill Falcons, always will.
I thin the problem comes in is in the competitive sense, in building a tournament list. You not only need to build a list that has the ability to take on those Fat Falcons, but also TIE Swarm, TIE Phantoms, 4-5 ship Rebel builds....
That is where the true challenge comes in. Building one list to beat another is not that hard. Building one list to rule them all...entirely a different matter.
Is there any Imperial build that is fairly balanced against other builds that works against a Fat Han?
Other than the TIE Swarm?

If a list was to rule them all then it would be its own kind of problem ![]()
Any good list with at least four ships should do. Fat Han is not the Boogie Man. It's a knee jerk reaction to the Phantom. It's a single ship with more than half the build investment and only 1 attack. Focus fire on that; take it out first. That'll teach 'em.

Define "fairly balanced". In fact, define "TIE Swarm".
I've beaten Fat Falcons with Bomber lists (various, but always Jonus + 2x generic Bomber + cheap escort), Firespray lists (2x Firespray + Backstabber), Lambda lists (2x Achromatic Astro-Antelopes and a Bounty Hunter), and a Bomber swarm (5x Scimitars + Howlrunner).
Captain Jonus
Cluster Missiles, Concussion Missiles
Scimitar Squadron

Scimitar Squadron
Ion Pulse Missile, Cluster Missiles

Have the Ions flank Jonus. First turn of shooting Ion Pulse Missile Han. Now you'll have a pretty good idea where he'll be the following turn. So move accordingly and Cluster Missile him into oblivion.
Just off the top of my head.
Rebel Swarm
3xBandit
2xRookie
1xBlue Squadron
Obviously TIE Swarm as well.
I've also had really good success with EXX and BXX Opportunist lists against it.
Won't these bomber list's get chewed up by a simple X-Wing list?
Would mixing a bomber, firespray and/or lambda together in the same list have the same effect? I have one of each, but not two! Edited by random.brown...Other than the TIE Swarm?

They would, but there aren't too many people running x wing lists lately.
His cholesterol is out of control. I suggest chasing him around a little, and try and make him have a heart attack.
And I'll add to that. An Imperial List that isn't crippled against every other possible opponent.
Edited by Ken at SunriseWould this work?
Any list that can fit in 2 HLC's will give Han serious trouble.
I really want to try
Corran FCS VI EU
2 blue's with HLC
I know it will kill Falcons. Not sure how it will do against swarms, but phantoms shouldn't be too awful for it either.

Difficult to see. Always in motion is the future.
Would this work?

Yes - although personally I'd ditch Vader, the Rebel Captive and the Anti Pursuit Lasers, give the BH Recon Specialist and the Shuttle Gunner. Also if you're running a HLC on both the Shuttle and Firespray, Jonus might make a good wingman...

Going to try this out tonight at X-Wing League!
Edited by random.brownHit him simultaneously with a bunch of flechette torps, and you have a window of opportunity during which he'll be somewhat less fireproof. A Scimitar with a flechette torp is dirt cheap. You could get five of the suckers - with failsafes - and still have points to spare for a couple of seismics, or maybe a seismic and a proximity mine.
Or maybe a Defender with hvy laser cannon and engine upgrade + 3 Scmitars with flechettes and failsafes, + 1 seismic.

I would drop the Gunner for an engine upgrade on the Shuttle. I don't think Gunner is going to go off a whole lot with the HLC throwing 4 dice that are buffed with Jonus. You aren't going to miss much, but you might run into not having to shoot anything more. EU on the shuttle can mitigate that problem as you can turn around much more rapidly.

3 shuttle soontir.

iPeregrine said it best on this link "The question here isn't how to beat a tank Falcon, it's how to beat it without crippling your list against every other possible opponent."
And I'll add to that. An Imperial List that isn't crippled against every other possible opponent.
Yes. Many. Here's one:
2x Delta Squadron w/HLC
Captain Jonus w/Squad Leader & Flechette Torpedoes

I'll tell you how: HLCs. Interceptors. Wedge. Outmanuever. Corran. Firesprays. And that's not all. Han is a counter to phsntoms but not the only one.
Corrently the only ways for the Empire to hunt down Falcon are:
- 7-8x TIE/f swarm
- 4x sigma phantoms
- mass bomber swarm
(especialy with cluster missiles and Jonus)
- 1x firespray + 3x lambda
- 3x firespray
- etc...
THE PROBLEM - there are not cheap builds, requries to buy many ships
THE GOOD THING - fat Falcon cost about the same as: 2 firesprays, 3 lambdas, 5 TIE-f...
