Would you rather own 2 YT2300s or 2 YT2400s? Assuming you could have 1 of each, and then add just one extra of either one. Would you have 2 YT2400s and 1 YT1300? Or would you have 1 YT2400 and 2 YT1300s?

Tough one: I would lean towards two YT-1300s not just for the ships but the upgrades as well. This is the only set that has Draw Their Fire, Engine Upgrades and one of the only two ships with Veteran Instincts: All of which very good upgrades.

The YT-2400 has some very good upgrades as well with the Heavy Laser Cannon, Gunner and a few others.

Yeah basically what he said, the upgrades that come in the 1300 are very good in multiples (Veteran Instincts, Draw their Fire, Engine upgrade) and rare (only comes in this pack, or this and one other large base ship)

Additionally at this point dual falcon is a viable and proven list, technically the 2400 isn’t even released yet and till it is tested and found for or against as to whether 2 or more 2400s are viable in 1 list remain to be seen.

In terms of upgrades the only thing in the 2400 in terms of non-unique upgrades that you want more than 1 of would be the HLC and maybe Stay on target, but again till it's tested thoroughly that’s unknown.

At this point my advice would be get another falcon (if you can find one) and if you really feel like you need a second 2400 at a latter stage, save your pocket money and get it, you can never have too many ships apparently.

I would take the 1300s. One to play with, and one to just sit on my desk looking good...

I love the Falcon.

I have little desire to ever field two 2400s, but have had great fun with double Falcon. Add that the upgrades coming with the 2400 look to be mostly unique anyway, outside a few things that are either already out there (like Gunner, the Co-Pilot, and soon to be Proton Rockets). The only thing I hope makes it into something else is Stay On Target, because it's a cheap enough EPT that it could see use on more than one pilot in a list.

I really can't decide if I want to get 2 2400's when they are available, or 1 more YT1300 and a 2400. I can afford one or the other option, not both at this point.

About the cards. I think having 2 Engine Upgrades with the original Falcon is enough. That's the main card I'd want to have 2 of from that set, so having a 2nd YT1300 is really about running 2, and I don't think I'm that kind of player. However, the 2400 only has one copy (correct?) of the Stay On Target card, and I'd like to have 2. Also, the lower value pilots (compared with the Falcon) makes me think I can more easily get 2 on the table and still have room for another ship (or a couple Z-95s). That sits better with me.

So, in the end, I think the decision is to go with 2400, but I thought I'd ask what others think. Obviously I have months to wait to make my decision.

I had a friend at gencon pick me up a decimator, had I the money, I'd have had him get me a 2400.. but I want upgrades mostly... so, I can wait.

I'd be happy with just one of either, so long as it is fully fueled and functional and the controls are reasonably intuitive.

Or were you talking miniatures?

I have 3 YT-1300s and they are all unique so I don't see the problem
