Tees Squadron Presents Friday Night ESCALATION at Beanie Games Stockton UK

By CowboyJesus, in X-Wing Organized Play

26th of September is going to be Tees Squadrons first attempt at Escalation! There have been a number of people really looking forward to this so I hope it goes well.

As ever we will be playing at Beanie Games in Stockton and once again I would like to thank our host for letting us use their venue for our events.

Time: 6pm start (5:30pm registration at latest, preregistration is possible at the email address below).

Cost: £3 (this includes the £2 subs paid to our host and £1 per head to cover any prizes) paid to the shop (not me)

Prizes: Prize support will be a ship of the evenings winner's choice (small ship), this will grow to include FFG Games Night Kit promos where available and more as funding allows. Announcements will be made before the event starts

Format: Escalation with Swiss pairings, this will only be a three round event due to store opening times, obviously this makes margin of victory very important for those of you who are in it to win it, while I would love to have enough rounds to make for a clear winner on points time just does not allow for this on a Friday night.

If you have any questions or suggestions PM me here or mail [email protected]

I would like to note here that there have been discussions about the possibility of extending the regular events to 4 rounds by way of cutting down set up time mostly (most people seem comfortable with this) and also because FNM which is run upstairs doesnt finish till 10.30 which means we have 4 and a half hours in which to play the rounds; sound doable? let me know what you think?

24 players have turned up to this event! Well chuffed, seems there is a large interest in the escalation format here. Will be running it again for sure. Two weeks time we will be back to the standard 100 points and in October we'll be looking at running another alternative format event.

This events winner was Mr Gibbins with his Tie Fighter and Interceptor swarm, very well played and recieved a ship and some other goodies for his efforts, also recieving a ship this week was second place Mr Howard who also recieved a couple of extra goodies thanks to our host.

Special mention I feel must go to one game in the final round which ended in a perfect draw, Y-Wing/HWK mirror match where the two remaining Y-Wings destroyed each other in their final shots, however unlikely it was it happened, crazy!
