DICE BAGS!!!

By kryss, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

I have one of those! In fact, I think I might've been your first customer. :D

When those glow-in-the-dark bags happen, please let me know - I think I might be in for one of those, as well!

You were indeed our first customer, and part of the reason we got the website up and running in the first place. Oh, and those new glow-in-the-dark dice bags? They happened!

The dice bags in the above photo, as well as all of our other Star Wars dice bags can be found here . The numbers are somewhat limited for these first few with the new material, but we're expecting to get some more made within a week or two.

Edit: Typo.

That's an expensive bag since I'd just throw away the whiskey.

I share the sentiment (I don't drink alcohol except maybe a glass of wine at a wedding) but you can get the bag only for a reasonable price on ebay. Can someone tell me how big the different color bags are?

I bought one at gen con this year and the rebel symbol is already starting to peel off at some of the tips

My nephew bought one when we went to Rebellion Day. It's basically some sort of plastic or thin vinyl with fuzzy stuff on the outside. It doesn't look like they're meant to last.

If I had a choice, I'd probably go with the ones Yoshi's wife makes.

Yep, disappointing. I have three cloth bags which are good felt and feel very strong. These new ones don't feel durable at all.

I have several bags I bought at a convention. They're actual cloth velvet on the outside, with a satin cloth lining and a sturdy rope-like string cinch. Nice feel, holds tons of dice, and wasn't too expensive if I remember. The small, cheap-o bags the vendor was selling was more like the FFG bags: thin vinyl coated with fuzzy pseudo-velvet on the outside. I did buy a couple of them for my nephew and mother-in-law's single D&D dice set, and they're still around and intact, but they don't get tons of use anymore.

Can someone tell me how big the different color bags are?

Not sure if you're referring to the Star Wars dice bags posted above, but if so, they're 6.5" by 4" and comfortably hold around 72 dice, give or take. It translates to five sets of Star Wars RPG dice, plus some spare room for a couple of pairs of percentile dice.

They're a bit smaller than the official dice bags being made by FFG, but if you wanted one made with specific dimensions, I'm sure we could work something out.

Edit: Here's a photo of a bag with some dice for scale purposes:

Eh... I've been using the same bag for 30 years and it hasn't failed me yet:

Yes, it was my grade school pencil bag. But my dice were more important even back in 7th grade... everyone has a pencil you can borrow, no one wants you to use their lucky dice.

So far I'm happy with my Rebel dice bag, but it hasn't endured much more than sitting on my shelf and the occasional fondling. Per everyone's comments, though, I'm keeping an eye out for excessive wear and tear, and I have Yoshi's website bookmarked in case I decide I need something of a higher quality.

The Crown Royal bags are pretty large - mine holds well over a hundred dice - and they last forever. I still have one from the mid-ninties.

So you are actively fondling your rebel dice bag?

Sorry. Couldn't resist.

I absolutely LOVE that you are doing these. I've just ordered. Really great stuff. :)

Thanks so much! It's already been shipped and should arrive by Thursday. We hope you love it!

I've got a nice leather dice back, blue with a Red Rebel/Republic Logo. I don't actually use it much anymore. With the advent of FFG Star Wars I've transferred my dice to a tin. I tend to share the dice a lot during a game, so having it open for people to grab what they need out of is just more convenient.

It is a nice Tin with Star Warsy stuff all over it though. I picked it up in a candy store somewhere.

I try to fondle it at least twice a day. Three times on Sunday.
