Hey all,
To hype up The Woodland some more, let's discuss tactics! I'll start with the Spider Queen.
Her web tokens let her cling to the good spaces and even bounce between good ones. For example, suppose she lands on the Fountain of Wisdom.
Turn 1. Drink from the Fountain.
Turn 2. Web the Fountain, move off and encounter Space B (another good space, say Healer).
Turn 3. Web the Healer, then move back to the webbed Fountain. Flip the web token on the Fountain to the crawler side. Drink from the Fountain again.
Turn 4. Web the Fountain again, move towards Healer (discard crawler token because you "made a roll," i.e. movement roll, and you can use the +1 movement to let you reach the Healer again).
Repeat!
Downside... another player can also stick themselves to the good spaces.
You can also bounce between spaces like the Temple and Castle using the above, except you can use the +1 to add to your Temple roll instead of your movement roll.
Finally, if you uncover a bad space stands between an opponent and treasure, you can web the bad space, blocking them off the treasure! As an example, you land on a Dragon and to your left is an opponent, and to your right is the Magic Stream. Web the Dragon on your next turn, then if they try to go past the Dragon, they'll get caught in the web and have to fight it. The token will turn to the crawler side, so they'll have -1 to their attack score in the battle.
Any other strategies for Spider Queen or other characters that come to mind?
