[Lost Legacies] How did it run?

By richienvh, in General Discussion

Was reading the press release for the F&D Beta and noticed that some Gen Con people mentioned that the adventure which was run there was called Lost Legacies and involved a Jedi derelict ship. I really felt curious about this adventure.

Can anyone elaborate as to how it played? I'm only asking this because it might provide some inspiration as I am trying to replicate the Essles flashpoint from TOR in my campaign, setting it during the Rebellion. Because of that, I felt really interested in it...

So...

Was there combat? Were there artifacts? How did it play?

I was able to participate in Lost Legacies, and from the sound of it, our group didn't complete it, but we did reach a conclusion to the adventure. My memory is pretty bad, so I am sure others can fill in any gaps I have left.

tl;dr: It had all those things. Combat, artifacts, force stuff. It was a fun adventure.

Plot/Adventure summary from the game I was in.

All of us were Force practitioners (of course) who were already traveling with one another as we saught to uncover secrects about the Force and ancient Jedi techniques. We were contacted by an archeologist prefessor from our past to help him investigate some ruins he came across in the Corporate Sector.

The adventure picked up as we dropped off on the planet (can't remember where). We were greeted by some officials at the base camp who checked our gear. Some of us had Lightsabers, but luckily one our party members ate some conflict and used misdirect to disguise them. After taking our assessment of the base camp and gathering some information of the local social climate, we headed for the ruins.

It turned out the Archeologist uncovered some artifacts that we all discovered were relics from the Madelorian wars. Some were Mandelorian artifacts but others were Jedi artifacts. One of them being a talisman.

Through study we found that these relics were clues from some lost Jedi legacy (can't remember what the legends referred to it as). After further study we pinpointed the macguffin to a particular planet. As we decided to leave the ruins and make for this planet, we were ambushed by some rival clansman. After we (regretfully) took a few guys out, we managed to scare the others away. But by the time we returned to base camp, a COMPNOR agent and his men were wating for us (we were caught accessing certain... marked and suspicious files during our research [someone rolled a despair]). They agreed to let us go in exchange for the doctor. We didn't want to do it but the doc told us to.

We left the planet and made for the macguffin, which turned out to be a derelict hammer head cruiser . Once we boarded the ship we set out to investigate it. I recall that we ran into a still operational basalisk wardroid that we managed to paralyze with clever use of an electromagnet. After we destroyed the droid we continued to the bridge. At this point we saw another ship begin its docking process. We knew trouble was on the way but we wanted to continue searching the ship. We eventually found a secret hatch which opened up to a hidden meditation chamber. Within that chamber, hidden under a statue, was a Jedi Holocron.

By that point, several stormtroopers and a number of magnagaurds busted in, and we had to slow them down as we made a run for it (we were out of time by this point so none of us wanted to go into a full combat.)

That sounds amazing. Any chance we might get to see it released? Or do they want to keep it a GenCon exclusive for the peeps who showed up to support them?

I wonder if it was based on this old 'classic': Han Solo and the Lost Legacy

From the sounds of it, not significantly, other than it dealt with ancient artifiact(s) within the Corporate sector. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed HS:LL plenty, but other than superficial similarities I don't see anything linking them.

Wow! Very nice indeed!

Basilisk War Droid and Mandalorian Relics seem great! Hopefully, we'll get this as the final product adventure or some Free RPG Day thing...

Anyway, nice to see they are using Mandos, Ancient Swords and Sith Alchemy Beasts in their stuff !
