Something tells me i am going to love the new xwings. Their aesthethics please me, they look more to a modern fighter.

the site in question is near Greenham common in the UK.

A guy took pics flying his aircraft overhead.

Its been on the BBC news, thats where the OP still comes from.

With Rebel Aces repaint already!!!

A 1:1 scale Falcon has existed since 1976...

If I recall correctly the parts were deconstructed, and it wasn't inside and out consistently.

That is so dang cool that they are using an old RAF base for a Rebel base.

So... I wonder if anyone consulted with the VFX team before deciding to have a black X-Wing...

It won't be seeing any space-time in the movie without a Nebula for a backdrop...

hey isnt that at the "Top gear" test track?? i hear the Stig is going to have a cameo as a bounty hunter!!!

Some say his R2 unit speaks only in Jive, and that his ship smells like freshly-made Yorkshire Pudding.

All we know is, he's called the Stig....

This movie sure is full of X-Wings, it seems. Maybe we won't get any new ships...

But hopefully we'll get some new cards that will make X-wings worth playing again...?

Meh, I don't really like those X-wings that much. They better make a boss looking Y-wing. THEY BETTER.

It doesn't really bother me that much. Part of the SW design philosophy is that old things get used until they fall apart, and that's what gives the movies such a great feel. That said, CW arc had a lot of neat new ships and things, with both sides throwing them into service as fast as they could gin them up. I doubt we won't see anything new, because hi-tech societies are always churning things out.

Also, merchandising!

Can we just sit back for a second and consider the fact that by the time Episode VII releases, a 1:1 scale Millennium Falcon will exist in this world?

That is a beautiful fact.

Actually there's a guy down in Tennessee I believe who started building one a year or two ago. That's one hell of a scratch build.
