Let's Talk about X - Lambda Class Shuttle

I'm not a fan of the doom shuttle, I don't like blowing up my own ships.. lol

Here is another shot of my school bus.. the aurabesh says "Coruscant School District" the number is 2987.. lol

I'm that one person who doesn't run the shuttle with Engine. I've never gotten used to it.

Using a shuttle without EU is basically relying on slow flying and trying to catch them going for your other ships. The shuttle is cost efficient if it fires.

That said my favorite load-outs are:

Vader Shuttle

Captain Yorr

Tac Gunner

Putting HLC Gunner FCS and EU is also VERY powerful, but you had better be darn good at flying the rest of your team.

In this instance and they decide to go after your shuttle

1. It takes usually a minimum of 2 rounds to kill. (Flanking opportunity for both squint and blinks)

2. They're killing a 21 point ship... that's barely over 1/5 of your list.

not quite happy with how the engines turned out, tried a mix of vallejo neon-green mixed with a metallic medium.

Interesting idea's, my use of the shuttle is not as a tank but more a command base for the rest of the flight by using Captain Yorr's ability to take the other ships stress, but can use the shuttle as a long range attacks with Ion Cannon to slow down the enemy's main attack ship's like the B wing and the Falcon.

Typically I go for the Buzzsaw shuttle, I have a squad with a buzzsaw and an advanced TIE with a couple TIE fighters.. its a fun list to run.. I think I may try out a Defender with 2 buzzsaws if I can pull it off.

I like the EU on it as well, but it isn't essential, just handy for those quick turn arounds.

Buzzsaw is definitely fun. I only have 1 shuttle but if I can convince someone to get me another I'll take a 2 shuttle + phantom (or firespray) list to a local tourney on Sept 28. Not sure if I'll be permitted to battle report on it, but I'm not sure I have the equipment to do that justice. The guys at Sanctioned are a tough act to follow!

I've got 3 Alabaster Void Manatees, and I don't use them enough.. I have a couple lists I run, but I don't do the tournament games..

My Gencon list featured:

2 x Omicron Shuttle + FCS + Gunner + Tactician

Whisper + VI + ACD + Rebel Captive

Those games where the shuttles got Range 2 shots were always amazing. The FCS + Gunner combo is probably one of my favorite oadputs. Engine is good too, but if you slow play the shuttles really hard it can allow your flanking ship to get into a great position and not usually need to turn around.

Also, just an Omicron + FCS is really solid. Anything that'll make up for no actions when you either bump ships or pull the red 0 move will make the Shuttle much better. The real trick with the engineless Shuttle is to somehow chase your opponent, sometimes with a bait ship of some sort. It can stick behind an enemy pretty well and clog up the field when they k turn to fight it. Lots of little things like that.

Omicron + Engine Upgrade + Adv. Sensors + HLC + Tactician + Rebel Captive

It's 40 points of zippy, stress-filled wonderfulness. Pair it up with a Wingman equipped Black Squadron and it becomes even more deadly efficient. Just my last tournament it amazed people when it began with a Phantom chasing it, and then managed to get behind the Phantom thanks to its engine boost and stressing out the Phantom!

I don't have Wingman yet, but it surely will help the cow turn.

I'm thinking to get another shuttle and do a list just like this (but with Echo because I have more experience flying her) but not only would I need another shuttle, but also another Phantom and Firespray, so that's not likely to happen.

I agree with you that shuttle without EU is totally viable. I think Enhanced scopes will further that

I love flying shuttles with engine upgrades, but I want to get used to flying them without it. Obviously shuttle's are there to tank shots and clog up movement, while fel does what he does best and beats stuff up. Wingman works for fel lr for the shuttles.

The doom shuttle is hard to beat in a well supported list. It is your finisher, garuntees death to any 1hp ship limping around and almost certain death to any 2hp ship w/o 3 AG and ways to modify.

OGP+EU+gunner+FCS (buzz saw) with or without tactician is an amazing ship once you get the hang of it. The first few times you flank a list with a shuttle you're opponent will get all kinds a confused. Expect that load out to draw a lot of hate fire after those first 1-2 victories.

Both are enhanced greatly by a BSP+ wingman escort...endless stall and much faster turn arounds make a great combo.

I'm always nervous about investing many points in Doomshuttle, since ultimately it will die. Then again, I guess everything died. Goodness, how bleak!

Would you put an ion cannon on a doom shuttle if you wanted some ion control but had no place else to fit it?

I guess in that case you'd really want the engine upgrade to keep Yorr in range of his squad for his ability to work.

My personal favorite is;

Omicron Group Pilot, Adv. Sensors, Engine Upgrade, Gunner.

I either fly 3 of them together or more recently I've been adding a Decimator and Black Squadron Pilot with Wingman.

Oh gosh with Decimator that's a beefy hp list!

Last night I flew an Advanced Sensors/Engine Upgrade/ Tactician build on an OGP. As noted, that build offers a ton of maneuverability and speed. The Tactician only fired once, but managed to add a second stress to an opponents' Doomshuttle.

If you're usin acrylic paints, thin them a little with water and apply multiple thin coats, you'll get better results.. I think the green you are using looks nice and will really pop when you lighten it for the glow effect.

I didn't pick up any Wave 5 stuff at Gencon.

Always loved the space cows.

I usually run themed lists. So I'll do shuttle plus 2 ties, or Boba + Shuttle + TIE-A (Vader).

Fire Control System is my system of choice.

Have enough for two wings of space cows (2x2). I have not run that because asking the other player to chew through 40 points of hull+shield makes for a very long game.

Paint scheme is Holstein :)

The sensor jamming Alabaster Void Manatee is an elusive beast, but I usually opt for the buzzsaw Manatee, as I love the maneuverability it affords.

I don't know what we will call it but a Fleet Officer Shuttle could be very useful (Milking Cow?) Rexlar with a second focus, bombers with APTs (or even just Concussion missiles) Hell even Tie Advanceds with proton rockets could benefit from one of these (Dare I say make Maarek worth trying? Marksmanship on a 5 dice attack should get at least 1 crit through )

The focused Cosmic Manatee.. haha.. I like the concept, would do wonders for a bomber list. Maybe an OGP, Jonus, and a couple scimitars. Or a gama.. 2 if possible and various ordnance..
