Exactly, it is not a big deal. so why pass judgement on people doing whatever they want to do to enjoy a hobby.
Not enough upgrade cards - What's the standard procedure?
I can see the logic, but is a tad annoyed over A-wings future. Will we need to get a Rebel Aces pack per A-wing because of Chardaan refit now? No one will fly naked A-wings for 17 when they really cost 15.
Rebel Aces will come with 3 Chardaan Refits. That's plenty for most of us. FFG is quite a fair company as opposed to other coff*GeeDub*coff companies.
Buy more ships of course! Mistakes must be made!
I think proxy is fine, but most tourneys dont allow. I certainly have no issue with it. I have several of everything, and anymore I dont even get the cards out for casual play. I print off my list from voidstate's squad builder and use that. Everything on one sheet, which i can just mark up and throw away when it's over. no shield tokens, etc to keep track off. clean and simple. setup is much faster as well, and noone messes up your cards if there is a spill or something. i recommend you take a look at it. if you prnt the detailed view, all the rules for the upgrades are printed with the ship. I dont think we need to let financial snobbery become a hindrance to more people adopting this game. I can afford it, many cannot. do i want to beat my opponent with money, or skill? I choose skill. Only way to have a truly level playing field is to have identical options availble, but like I said, dont count on such good will at tournaments. As for financial priorities, the guy with the broken down truck and the shiny bass boat is a perfect example of wrong financial priorities. You can set your own priorities, but if you spend all your money on toys, or buy beyond what you can truly afford, you are going to be broke until those priorities get adjusted. Making money is easy, managing it is a life skill usually learned through bad desicions. The key to having money is what you do with it after you get it. Look at all the broke ex NFL players. bad financial priorities are the ruination of many. End of unsolicited advice.

Well said, Admiral Adama.

Err on the side of respect. If you plan on playing at a tournament where there will be players outside your exclusive gaming circle, use the FFG cards (pilot and upgrade) and ships. Players often-times purchase expansions for a small aspect of that expansion (i.e. an upgrade card or a specific pilot card) and not because the extra ship is needed for their list. When going to a tournament, people who have made the decision to do that will be there and to respect the rules of the game in the same mindset that they have, play with the actual cards. I have yet to meet a player at a tournament who wouldn't loan out their unused upgrade cards for the event if someone asked, as long as that player was trying to play with the correct cards.
In personal games, pick up games, games against yourself, you can do whatever you and your opponent agree on. ![]()
I do this all the time with my brother. Until we actually found out you could only have one modification, we tried to put as many proxy cards on a ship as we could.
But now i know and i never use proxies in tournaments or competitive games.
I´m sorry, I didn´t realize you get 3 Refits in the box. Google Fu fail.

Anyway, at least here most people do not bother with cards at all and just use squad builders, well outside of official tournaments naturally which boost FFG sales in a real big way. I am looking at you imperial raider … just kidding, the raider is awesome and it would be still awesome without palpatine in the box.
Example of one of those list builders even when I personally use another one:
I proxy cards all the time, however, I have not done any tournament, mostly just casual play.
Unless Fantasy Flight comes out with a card only expansion I tend to print out the extra cards. Otherwise, especially if there are a lot of cards I use a squad builder and print the squad from there.
Dang this is an old thread.
Dang this is an old thread.
It could be but the topic is probably even more relevant today as that's two more years worth of upgrade cards someone may not have gotten around to getting.
Unlike some things it's not like the answer has actually changed here.
