Fel, Turr, and the Gang

I've had this thought with Wingman and Turr that I want to try out sometime but I'm not sure the trick is worth it or if it will be too much of a pain.

First run through idea

Fel /w Push the Limit

Turr /w Push the Limit

Black Squadron /w Wingman

Black Squadron

Academy Pilot

The intended plan is the Wingman BSP to follow Turr as close as possible to take the stress off of him when he does PTL at action so after Turr attacks he can boost and PTL again. Is this trick worth trying to pull off or back to the drawing board?

PtL specifies that it can only be used once per round.

I believe the BSP will have a hard time keeping up with the slippery Turr.

And, since you can't PtL again in the same round, Wingman becomes somewhat redundant, because of how many green maneuvers the TIE Interceptor has. It's very easy to clear that stress token in the next round and then PtL again. No need to have a wingman slowing you down.

I jumped to something similar too when I saw wingman. The only thing it really allows you to do that you could t do before is an occasional Kturn.

Now the lambda on the other hand...

I think Turr and BSP Wingman perk might be worth it. Many times you will be forced to turtle up with F+E, or need to Boost prior to shooting, for an arc, so you'll need to focus to get good damage output, both of which cause you stress.

And honestly, my favorite part about Turr is being able to shoot, then barrel roll not JUST to dodge an arc, but to gain some distance so my next turn inwards is less likely to be blocked, and I have a much better attack route. It can mean you get 1 more turn of shooting rather than having to leave combat for a turn and come back, which is sometimes the downside of PTL. I just know I had a tough time winning when running 3 x RGP + PTL alongside a Doom Shuttle. But once I brought in Turr + VI, 2xRGP +PTL, Doom Shuttle, the wins started rolling in, solely for the freedom Turr had in dial choice (and PS 9).

For interceptors, Wingman also assists in combating Rebel Captive / Tactician.

And I never knew how much I missed taking a 1 turn on an imperial ship until I finally brought Wingman along with my PTL Interceptors, haha.

Does Wingman work? Sure. Is it great all the time? Probably not. Might just be better off throwing in Howlrunner in place of both BSPs. Damage is usually > Fun tricks, after all.

Tonight I tried Rexler Brath with PtL and a BSP wingman. Being able to push the limit for target lock and focus, or barrel roll and focus was nice, but I didn't like being tied to a 3 hull TIE Fighter. And if I found that constraining with the Defender, you can sure believe your Interceptors will choke on that leash as well.

It seem like the bigger advantage the Wingman offers is opening up the full suite if movements to the Interceptor pilot. If they play loose on the chain, but just take advantage of being close to the Wingman when convenient, he opens things up so they could still bank or 3-turn with an action on the turn after a PTL.
