I played some games over google hangouts lately and have had a great time. Wondered if FFG could do a dedicated site with an on screen dice roller and sell maps with grids on them for better mini placement. (Grid mats are the only way to go, thanks metal bikini!)

I would be a nice way to play when ever I wanted to, just log on, see who is in que for a game, send them a message and go!

Maybe even have a way of ranking players, stats, browsing games by squads, who knows. Just something I thought of the other day.

Did you run two tables in parallel or just one?

I had my table set up with both his and my miniatures, as did he. The template system allows for mimicking movement. Along with a grid on the map makes for an easy flowing game of x wing over the internet.

What about bumps, corner cases, minor offsets?

There is some discrepencies and the gridded map helps out alot. We made the rule that if your ship can make the move on your map the other repositions his ships to reflect those moves. There is alot of trust that you need to have. The controlling side gets the final call basically. After each movement phase we call out any questions we have, takes a minute or two but in the end its still an enjoyable time.
