Developing List: Smart Missiles

This list idea uses a lot of the new tools available to rebels in the Rebel Aces expansion, which may or may not be lost at sea at the time of writing this.

Specifically it uses the an Intel agent from a B-Wing's E-2 modification to make Proton Rocket carrying A-wings into very dangerous attackers.

The variation I'm liking the best at the moment is:

3x Green Squadron Pilots w/ Proton Rockets, and PTL (25pts each)

Blue Squadron Pilot w/ E2 upgrade, and Intel agent

The engagement theory behind this list is simple: use the Intel agent to look at the dial of a potential PR target and line up a shot from one or more of the A-Wings, boosting if needed to line things up.

This list, like a lot of PR A-Wing lists, can pack a lot of punch in the first engagement or two, but can lose steam if the PRs don't punch hard enough. Other than that, I think a major weakness of this list is the low PS. Here's another variant:

2x Prototype Pilot w/ PR

Blue Squadron Pilot w/ E2 upgrade, AdvS and Intel agent

Jan Ors w/ Nien numb, ICT, Decoy

This is interesting, because Jan can boost the attack of one of the Prototypes to 6 with the PRs and boost them up to a beefy PS8 at the same time. Not bad, I think.

Do you guys think something like this is viable?

Ush pretty hard to keep the B close enough to get Intel agent to be relevant,and then maneuver correctly to get a perfect R1 shot.

I would take a HWK with ICT and Intel Agent for 22 pts over the B. With the B you have the problem of trying to get close to someone you want to know about and also having a shot. The HWK's ICT negates this. Also, HWKs like flying along side the enemy, they naturally fall into that position much more often than a B.

This is the list I'd take. Kyle passing focus gives your As just a little more bite. The Proton Rockets also benefit by being able to be TL and F'ed, 5 dice TLF is not to be laughed at!
Or just have two focuses helps for defense.
Moldy is a really worth it addition, since you can pass away the stored away Fs and you can do TL and F.
You can deal with Phantoms via ICT, Intel Agent, and Tycho's PS 10.
For dice power you have two proton rockets and 4 ships. You'll probably still have a hard time against Falcons, but hey, this list is for theme and fun right?
